Honestly, I don't think they're nearly the same. Batman Beyond's Bruce is weighted down. Failed relationships, partners pushed away, and no family left to him. Sure, he could fight off some punks, but his dog was there with him. Clone Bruce just didn't have the same narrative weight. And I, personality, applaud that. Weighted down with responsibility and failures is a great narrative tool. Them saving it for a appropriate time is just right to me. References are nice, but they need to be in the right place and the right time. Besides, doesn't that clone look eerily similar to Bruce when he uses the Lazarus Pit in Batman Beyond? Just a bit more spikes to the sides.

To the people being confused, the clone's hand probably doesn't age any faster. Actual limb transplants have been done in the past and what happens is that they take the characteristics of the new host's body, changing size, bone density and skin color after a while. Because new cells have to be created for the repairs for these limbs, meaning that the host body is creating the new repaired cells, basically making the hand into a normal Bruce Wayne hand minus probably the scarring for the reattachment. Now rejections dunno how that works for limbs but this being a clone probably means there is no rejection. And you can shrug saying they reattached a new hand this late due to simply comic science logic. As for why he would want a human hand instead of a bionic one..... well that is one big ass distinctive feature that both would have. If bruce slips once and let it shown that he had a bionic hand rather similar to that of Batman that could be too big a vulnerability for his secret identity. Also the real reason is cuz comic executives are the most scared of the idea of changing the status quo.

honestly I find stolas not taking accountability to be super realistic, he’s all up in his feelings, he’s not gonna think abt his own wrongs nd most certainly not gonna admit them for rn he too busy grieving his love, which I find to be way more accurate to real messy break ups than anything else

With Bats' Billions and his tech, I would be replacing my missing body parts with advanced prosthetics. A hand with a built in batarang launcher and electroshock knuckles would be a big help with kicking peoples teeth in.

What's scary is rapid aging is a real condition kind of. Saw a 16 year old on a Documentary who had the body of a 80 year old. But was mentally 16

Thats all well and good and very bittersweet of the clone given the context.... but how does that work? If the clone is genetically predisposed to age at a certain rate and they found that they couldn't fix it, then wouldn't the hand also be predisposed to age at that rate?

they can make a entire clone, so i believe cloning a hand is way easier , also just re-attach , there is alien tech , super tech, nano bots and all type of scy fy on batman universe so re-attaching a hand should be easy

What I don't understand even now after all this time is why didn't Bruce get his back billions on his own. He knows how to run a business and understands how humans work on top of being able to make incredible inventions from scraps. He knew how every part of his company that has it's hands in multiple types businesses worked and is knowledgeable on almost every type of subject in known to man and even beyond. At the very least he should've been more than able to become a millionaire before these events.

Man, I thought it was so cool that he had a bionic hand. Would have vastly preferred they kept it that way :/ A robot hand is always going to be way cooler than a regular hand.

Y’know this arc had me really doubting the future of Batman but damn they low key stuck the landing. Batman literally defeating the Batman that everyone perceives him as the crazed militaristic loner. And saving Bruce Wayne the confused kid who feels alone in this world who gets to die peacefully in old age seeing all the people who loved him care. And the final act of Bruce Wayne before his death being the giving of a second chance. is kind of sorta the perfect ending thematically speaking

Never thought I’d say this but I actually prefer the 90’s Aquaman hand loss story better, this just seemed like a pointless addition to the storyline as it had no real ramifications during or after the storyline
