How Davey Havok's Voice Changed

Музыка

I love the way Davey's voice changed through the years. It makes me feel nostalgy, but I love his mature voice. Of course, he's not anymore that boy who played to be a singer. He is now a mature man who made true his dream.

He fucked his vocal chords up and needed surgery, and I feel that right there changed a lot, especially how they approached their style from then on out so as to not stress his voice out again. Still an awesomely talented dude.

Bull shit, he is in xtremist they still fucking scream, so get facts straight. You act like you know what your talking about like most new fans do. Then talk shit on the punkers that made this band popular. Biggest sell out punks band. Its unfortunate too. Cuz they used to be so fucking good.

NO he actually was a bad ass punker and not some alternative shit head. Fucking new fans were never their from the start and will never fucking get it. They sold fucking out. Davey can't even sing with this alternative phase he is in. They were one of the most bad ass punk bands ever, now what the hell are they. Sold out to these new age fans that will never fucking understand punk. So, I hate to be rude but you will never get it cuz you probably weren't even born in 93. Which doesn't mean I was. I was born in 78. So, now you can stop assuming I was. Reason I said you probably weren't born in 93 is because thats when I started listening to them in high school.

I believe his vocal evolution has created a transformation what is nice. Some people like his older voice. Some people like cats instead of dogs. If you scream allot you’ll fuck your voice up, but I think he pushed through it to a point where he’s found where he’s comfortable. It’s polarizing, you either like his voice or don’t.

If you weren't their from the start you have no idea wtf your talking about. A mature man! Wtf? Bad religion one of the God fathers of punk didn't sell out. Pennywise either. Or rancid, whom by the way were best friends with afi. They had a chance to sign with a huge label. But didn't want to sell out on their fans. But afi, first chance they got sold the fuck out. My point was im hearing he matured into a man who made his dream come true. Well, All three of those bands I mentioned are older than afi and are must better as well. They didn't need to sell their soul to hollywood to be a fucking great punk band. But afi did. So, Im not trying to be a downer, but I am tatted up and down with afi as a punker. I love how these people try to insinuate or fell the need to comment on a band they never grew up with. If you were their in 93, which most people left and don't follow afi. But some still do cuz they like all types of music. But he didn't mature in sound. His voice was made for punk. Its obvious he can't sing alternative. That's why it sounds so bad. To each their own. But afi will always be remembered for their sick punk not their sell out phase! Maybe to these new davey squeakers I like to call them. Cuz they go to shows and try to squeak like Davey. It was never like that in 93-2003. It was hardcore anger. This band went night and day with one album DU. The day I lost my favorite band. its like a bad break up. I love that person, but they changed and you hope they will come back to the good old days. But never will. I would never have had problem if they changed their name to xtremst. Playing this new afi. Then afi playing extemst. RIP AFI!
