How CS:GO's Dirtiest Cheater Inspired the Game's Most Ridiculous Meme

Ойындар

Esports is a truly global phenomenon - but that doesn’t mean that every region is on equal footing. But among the regions that are expected to soak up all the silverware, are those that are fighting just to be recognized. Formidable dark horses that have overcome incredible odds, despite the challenges they've faced along the way.
But breaking into the top tier in any esport is never easy for a developing region, and even some of the world’s most prestigious scenes have had their reputations dragged through the mud by players looking for shortcuts to the top.
But in the world of Indian Counter-Strike, there is one infamous event that didn't just send shock waves through the scene. It nearly destroyed it. A despicable, heinous act, that would not only create the region’s greatest villain, but one of CS:GO’s most infamous memes.

As a Bangladeshi, I think shoving Indian players in the world stage right now is not a very good idea. Make the market in India first. There are plenty of awesome players to hold tournaments. If India dives in, Bangladesh & Pakistan will follow quickly and BOOM... you have a new region for World Stages to put Qualifiers on...

Tbh I don't think it's entirely on him. Granted what he did was incredibly scummy, however Optic had the opportunity to back the other players on the team and try and try again next tournament with a replacement. Instead they chose to drop the team immediately after the scandal and pretty much stranded the players abroad with no financial support in a foreign country until their pre-scheduled flights home. They denied both the team and the Indian scene its chance for redemption and to prove itself.

@@oohbleeblooblaghblagh9211 I mean that dude is just saying the truth . Indian mindset is more prone on honing your education rather than games...that's why you see super smart Indian kids but not really athletes....much less virtual sports 😂😂. The society here doesn't really care about games in general. Take me for example. My father doesn't want me to play games . He will exclusively remove the graphics card from a PC before buying it...just so I don't waste my time playing games. Soo you can say he means that Indian people are more focused on earning money the traditional way then to fancy themselves into a field where your odds are same as lottery tickets 🤦. Also you're comparing Philippines with India? Like seriously....you realize how big the difference is between the countries? Also just the term third world country doesn't define a country's financial state 🤦 it simply means that the country isn't affiliated with the usa or russia. People have been using it to denote the financial status of a country which is stupid. Philippines doesn't face the same problems as India do. Philippines doesn't as a religious distipute in it . Philippines doesn't has a neighboring country that wants to burn them to cinders. You can afford not to invest in your military because nobody cares about Philippines nor does it has such significant potential that it's worth venturing in . Dude even Iran has more potential in it than Philippines, be logical with your comparison.🤦 If you don't know anything about it , its better to keep your mouth shut

The memes are fun and all but what concerns me is how eSport teams handle these situations. In any traditional sport when a player is caught cheating (dopping or other nasty stuff) that player is fined and moved from the main roster but you dont punish the whole team; you then investigate if other players are also involved. So giving the cold shoulder to the whole squad for one player action is kind of messed up and I am really glad these other players were able to move on and continue with their eSport careers and not have their dreams crushed by how an org treated a cheating situation.

I used to play counter strike in college. I was best player in my college. Won many college level tournaments. But failed to do anything above it. My teammates left counter strike. Online latency was very bad. I talking about pre jio era. Even after jio, internet in India is nowhere near to european or south east asia internet. I had to stop playing. I never got chance to play this game at high level. This guy got a chance to take part in LANs and he still cheated. He damaged Indian CS so much that I can't even comprehend. Many a time I feel sad about our Indian esport players. The trouble they are facing is immense. Hope they do well in esports.

This is perfectly normal behavior for many people from India. It's engrained into their culture. It's the reason 99% of scammers are from there, and it gets even worse in the Kolkata region. Where they have an amoral hustle culture. It's not all of India, obviously but facts are facts.
