Perhaps the reporter did not know she has to shake the towel in order to activate the towel to get cool. Repeat this process when the towel warms up from the body heat. I have few of them that I got from Target for $5 each, they work great!

Reporter Might be correct about the immediate cost of the cooling towel, but here’s what she didn’t say: cooling towel only needs to be wet with mildly cool water to provide advantage, where as a cloth needs cold water, so now there’s significant cost and logistics of how to obtain ice water once cloth loses cooling effect. If you are taking this for a long day in the field where it is impossible to obtain cold water or ice in which to dunk a cloth, the cooling towel provides significant advantage over a cloth in both cost and logistics. If you are just sitting at home or in the backyard, then maybe any old cloth will do. The cooling towel is an initially higher investment, but that cost is recouped over time. Not much critical thinking in this review.

Im using one if these right now, I have anxiety issues and find it comforting. I strongly dissagree with this, as I usually start it off with warm water, and it becomes cool within a few minutes. (constantly changing my temperature when im having an attack helps immensely) Ive done it even from my hottest tap water, and it still gets much colder than luke warm in less than 5 minutes. Worth the money hands down. I usually dont fully ring it out, and if it starts warming up all you have to do is ball it up and give it a squeeze (the water in the parts hanging and not directly touching your neck will be much colder) and recycle the water

I just bought a set of them, but not this brand. I never had one before, but a person showed me how you wet it, squeeze it out and shake it three or four times, and then he had me feel it. I was shocked. Like it just came out of the refrigerator. So I am using it, as the weather here in Florida is getting warm, as it's March 26. I worked in the yard, and found that if I wrap it around my neck it doesn't work as well, and the ends will make your shirt wet. It only felt good for about 15 minutes. So I wet it again and shook it, and wrapped it around my forehead, tying it in the back. MUCH better. The cold ends hang down the back of my heat, and even through my hair I can feel the cold. I never got hot mowing the grass, and it was around 84 degrees. I still have it on, and I have not had to turn the a/c on sitting here, although the inside temp is 78, which normally is too hot. I have been totally comfortable. The reason I got these, along with a cold gel baseball cap, is because the a/c in my car died, and it's like an oven in there. So, I'm figuring out how to stay cool in my car. I also got a gel mat which also goes in the freezer, along with the cap. I tried the cap today, and I got brain freeze. It was uncomfortable, and I took it off. I put it back on, but had to reposition it. I think maybe the cap would do better in the refrigerator, as it was downright painful. But I love these cloths! Get some. You won't regret it. And don't forget to shake 'em!

Nope i used while in vegas and it helped tremendously... once it isnt as cool as you would like all you do is take it off and give it a snap... if it isnt dry it will rejuvenate its cooling properties... also if you just drape it over your head it feels like you have AC around your head and face... thats because its allows the air to move thru it... the air cools as it passes thru... a regular towel will not...

I only just discovered these and got one a couple days ago from Amazon. Already in love with it. I put it on this afternoon while working on the garden and I never felt warm. Then tonight I was feeling a bit ick and so laid down when bed and put it across my face. Love that, like you said, it's totally breathable so you can do that.

I respectfully disagree with what she said because, as an athlete, this perfect cooling towel is amazing for hot summer days outside on the field. I have used a cloth towel before, and, although it does stay cold, it gets your shirt wet when you wear it around your neck, causing embarrassing wet stains (which look like you sweat A TON). This is why I prefer the perfect cooling towel because 1. It stays cold!!! And 2) it doesn't get your clothing wet if you wear it around your neck or on other parts of your body! Even if it does get hot, as do all towels, because of a process called evaporation and due to how your body absorbs the coolness, you can just re-wet it and it is back to normal again!

There is a very specific factor missing here: user error. You have to utilize air movements to re-cool (dissipate) the towel. The movement of air, for example, fanning the towel, will allow the towel to release the latent heat into the atmosphere. The towel becomes cool again instantly.

I'm using one in India in 37C around my neck and shoulders, it feels like 7 deg C, when it loses its cool just shake it in the air for a couple of seconds to disperse the residue heat and off you go. If you are indoors with a fan blowing at very slow speeds you don't even need to shake I've found, it can last a very long time more then 40 mins. In fact it feels so cold that you feel the need to take it off that's how could it feels to be honest. If you are out doors in the blazing sun\ heat then the towel seems to dry out in less then 30 mins, so you just need to wet it again shake it and off you go. This towel has many small holes\pores which help with the cooling effect, Maybe I need to try with normal towel and compare the two.
