Dude is, no joke at all, one of the most important singular figures in modern history. This first domino, along with many other union drives happening rn, is the beginning of a new american labor movement. The capitalist class is scared, and they should be.

Well said, and absolutely true. Chris Smalls is a legit hero. He created a true grassroots movement that accomplished what labor union advocacy firms had been trying, and failing, to do for the last decade (maybe longer?). Amazon was and is absolutely terrified of Chris Smalls and everything he stands for. And if Amazon's scared, then so is the rest of the corporate class.

Let's see if Trump comes back in office and the Labor Movement is gutted. Having a President support unions and a willing Labor Secretary who punished amazon's anti-union actions is key. When/If Trump comes back it'll be the opposite.

If Americans get cheaper access to higher education, we reinvest in Technical schools in particular (to increase the amount of Americans that can work in Engineering and logistics), and we can address the housing crisis, combined with this new labour movement, we might actually get a big redistribution of wealth to the middle class, a decent generation of social mobility, and a bright future. If we can protect voting rights then we can address campaign finance reform too. All the ingredients are there, we just have to get rid of the filibuster so we can start cooking. I just get scared that this is what they’re permitting us to do so we don’t address those other things to keep improving the country, and we take the short term win, and we’re happy, and that’s it. Campaign finance reform in particular is one Im scared they want us to ignore.

As an Amazon delivery driver, this man is a fucking hero. I remember seeing the news about him protesting while delivering packages, I honestly never expected them to win because of how huge Amazon is.

I hope you get better working conditions or a better job soon, whichever you prefer. I don't order from Amazon, but have only respect for delivery and postal workers. It's a hard job and it's essential work. Without you, so many people would suffer, and that's no joke. People who are ill, elderly, housebound - delivery drivers and workers are a godsend.

  • @TonyAurum

@@TwoMarshmallows1 honestly, I'm hoping to just find employment elsewhere. I started working right before the pandemic started and it has been the toughest job to say the least. Also, I feel like the delivery side of Amazon is something that can't be reformed since we don't technically work for Amazon. Every driver works for a DSP that is employed by Amazon exclusively.

I put up with all the crap until they started penalizing us for their glitchy scanners, then I couldn't take any more of it seriously. Awesome to see better times ahead for those workers... As far a as all those half a freakin' torso orders go, I would always try to delude myself into thinking maybe it was going to some artsy crafty fashion sewing expert. Was a better visual than a mad scientist incel, eagerly awaiting it "My torso has arrived!" 🤓
