He got the plans, got them to kenobi, saved the whole gang from being crushed, repaired the x-wing so Luke could make his run down the death corridor, he got shot and survived and then everyone’s like “machine did it’s job” lil guy fucking did the mission! The hole way through! Obi-wan died, princess laia sat out the space battle, Luke kept getting attacked and failed to act multiple times until a voice from the after life told him to just, just trrry, Han Solo and chewey bounced after they got paid and c3po bitched and didn’t do a damn thing the whole journey. R2 should have be rebuilt in gold for his bravery and dedication to the mission.

Midichlorian* and thats a possibility. Probably not since he doesn't use the force in any way that we've seen despite spending literal years alongside Luke Skywalker and before that yoda and possibly other jedi, but he I think he likely does have atleast a slightly above non-firce sensitive amount of midichlorians

I remember being told that Wookiees were very prideful, but in a weird way that made them dislike public recognition for their deeds. To me as a little kid the scene itself never really stood out to me so I never noticed it until someone else mentioned it.

I always had to think of it as Han was the captain of the ship. A Warship that goes into battle and does something courageous, the whole crew would not get a medal or the same medal, I would imagine the captain would, of course, for leading the assault.

He got the recognition by being at the ceremony. They know what Chewie did

In the Lego skywalker saga they play on the fact that chewy doesn’t get a medal by giving medals to r2d2 and the dude handing out the medals.😂

The sequel trilogy was truly, unbelievably, bad.

This whole thing was misconstrued into some sore to of social justice nonsense. Not everyone gets a medal.
