How Celebrities Can Help Us Understand Borderline Personality Disorder

By examining the experiences of celebrities, we can gain valuable insights into the challenges and stigma surrounding borderline personality disorder (BPD) and mental health. Through their stories, we can learn to better understand and empathise with those who struggle with these conditions, while also raising awareness and promoting acceptance. Most of the people on the video had childhood trauma and parents with narcissistic personality disorder but while narcissists are admired by the world, those closer to them end up being estigmatized by society. There's also bias in the therapeutic communities when bpd is more diagnosed on women and adhd on men. Those factors don't speak well about objectivity in the mental fields.

@Lyrielonwind - you make a very valid point. Unfortunately, the disparity in diagnosis also happens with autism, highlighting the need for more awareness about how traits might present in males versus females. Mental health has always come behind physical health but thankfully we're going in a progressive direction, albeit slowly.

It seems according to Sam Vaknin and and books he studies from narcissism experts, only way to deal with narcissistic people is to become also a narcisist, and that narcissism is actually a response or defense mechanism to the people around you.

I don’t believe Britney really had those symptoms, a lot of people that are considered as « normal » did messier things by impulsivity, the video of her with her children is just a normal mother getting mad at her kids for doing wild things, the difference is that she was filmed as a manipulative tactic that the kid’s father used against her to manipulate her, she’s a woman that has been around abusive parents, a self centered sister and 2 narcissistic exes that made her suffering… When it comes to Angelina Jolie , I think she never really had a normal life growing up with a famous father + the death of her mother and a relationship with an abusive husband, I think her reactions due to her environment were completely normal, I think she’s just a normal human being that needs to experiences fresh experiences to heel her from her past traumas.

The thing is, _all_ people with a diagnosis are normal people. What we as a society label as "mental health disorders" are usually perfectly normal, and natural, reactions to extreme experiences (such as, but not only, abuse and trauma). I find this reliance on, and unquestionable respect for, the mental health system deeply concerning. Having gone through it I know how insane and abusive it is. And this is where we are meant to go when we're in crisis... Horrendous.

Is there a connection between borderline personality disorder and its opposing naracistic personality disorder. If those living with borderline personality disorder require empathy, then there is a very strong possibility that these individuals can be deliberately 'targeted' by naracistic abusers. These individuals mimic empathy but in reality naracists have absolutely no empathy and are totally empty people. When you actually think about it, a person living with borderline personality disorder is the ideal target for a naracistic individual simply because they can 'make' these individuals 'do their bidding' while at the same time 'pretending' that they are there to help them. The 'real' reality is that the naracist is only there to 'help themselves' and by 'letting on' that they are 'helping' the person living with borderline personality disorder, they get to 'put on' a 'performance' and a 'show' for their fan club of 'flying monkeys' who apparently do not 'have the ability' to see 'through' the naracist and the 'show' that is 'put on' specifically for them. May we all be protected from covert passive aggressive naracists.

Not everyone has to have a diagnosis of some sort. We are not these beings with psychology labels. We are children of God. Each of us has our ups and downs. Each of us have natural abilities that are uplifting, and behaviors that can cause friction inside ourselves and around others. Instead of viewing people and ourselves as a ‘walking talking diagnosis’, let’s view ourselves as a human being that has good and not so good traits, a human being that is unique with what gifts and struggles we each have, and that we are all children of God. Having much to offer the world.

@LornaLens - I agree with your last point. However, Robin Williams was mentioned in the context of "funny men" who often bury much deeper mental health issues. Robin was thought to be severely depressed as well as having been diagnosed with dementia. People with dementia suffer in ways that go beyond the dementia itself, they often display anger as an expression of the upset, pain, and frustration they go through with the disease, but cannot articulate. I mentioned him because he came to mind as a man who on the outside, to the world, may have seemed "fine".

@@phinitytherapy Feedback: Look into how the mental health system works in real life, past and present, before making yourself an advocate for it (by further marketing DSM diagnosises as some sort of truth). I turned to the mental health system in several attempts, over the decades, to resolve my dysfunction. It only made it worse. My trauma was exasperated and I had to deal with the same dysfunctions from staff that were the cause of my original issues. Not until I completely cut myself off from it was I able to start healing. Much like any unhealthy/neglectfull/abusive relationship. If you really want to raise awareness get in touch with survivors of the mental health system, and ask them about their experiences. _That_ is a field where awareness raising is needed.
