How Cars Ruled the World - Automobile Attraction

The love affair between man and automobile began more than a century ago. In the early days only the rich could afford the expensive invention, but the car quickly became an object of desire for increasing numbers of people. It promised not only mobility, but also status, and freedom. How did the automobile conquer the hearts the people so quickly? Why has the relationship turned sour for many today? Cars are still major polluters and held partly responsible for climate change. Is automania now turning to autophobia?

The century of the car left a legacy that will still be dramatic: climate change resulting from the burning of fossil fuels. Not to mention the mountain ranges of old tires. In most countries cars have been turned into citizens, as people cannot gather in the streets to demand something fair or necessary because disrupting traffic always attracts police repression. The police guarantee the rights to the cars. They cannot stand by or wait for political problems to be resolved. Cars even have the privilege of killing people, as crimes committed with a car are almost always culpable and carry a light sentence. Most of the time the victim of a car is guilty of having been inattentive. If the car that killed someone is sporty and very expensive, many will regret the damage to it more than the loss of a human life. The car century is extremely hostile to the elderly people. Because they are slower and have vision and hearing problems, the elderly are preferential victims of metal citizens. My father was run over at the age of 75 and suffered several fractures. When I saw him in the hospital screaming in pain, covered in blood, I fell into a sitting position. I don't have a car and I don't intend to buy one. The end.
