How can you test antimicrobial agents?
During A Level Biology, you will be required to perform a range of practical experiments that will reinforce what you learn in the classroom and develop your laboratory skills. This video is part of a range of resources that use the expertise of University of Birmingham researchers to help you understand some of the most common A Level practical experiments, for a full range of resources, see: www.birmingham.ac.uk/undergrad...
In this video, we consider why antibiotics are such useful antimicrobial agents, set up an experiment that tests the effectiveness of antibiotics, and consider why antibiotic resistance is such an important subject for research today.
You can also hear us go into more detail about this experiment with the Laboratory Confessions podcast here: / laboratory-confessions...

This was helpful.
Thank you! I was worried about a lack of antibiotic disks. Now I can do my tests by using filter paper and antibiotic on use

You have to test in 37 degree Celsius because that is our physiological temperature and we have to test for bacterial infection takes place at that temperature right?
