Such simple and straightforward teachings. Absolutely wonderful. Why cant they teach this stuff to kids in schools? What a role model he would be compared to our religions, which have completely gone off track, and the so called "influencers" who spout about looks and money. 😢

I think kids are too young to know this stuff and have to naturally go through their ego's and life's growing pains to reach a certain level of conscious awareness. And most religious followers are nothing like religious leaders. They are good folks who believe in Christ.

For a chuckle see the comment above yours and the responses to it. It truly would transform our world if these simple spiritual truths were taught in school from the earliest age. It's actually discovering sanity vs. the cultural shallowness that blinds us to what really matters.

I'm deeply touched by your profound words. I can honestly say that I'm in the stage you described. I lose consciousness from time to time. Sometimes I realize it as it emerges. And at other times I get completely lost in compulsive thinking. But in all of this, I deeply know that my consciousness is undergoing an incredible shift.

It's so heartwarming and hopeful to see so many of us awakening; I know somehow, without any physical evidence, that consciousness is arising in direct proportion to the madness in our world. I smile to myself when I see or hear of horrific events in the world, not because of the event, but because I know the light of consciousness is growing as a natural counter to the darkness (we won't see this on our nightly news stations) It's amazing how a very small amount of light can flood a huge dark area. An image came to me recently of a huge empty stadium. In complete darkness one only has to light a small match, and that light can be seen anywhere in that stadium...whereas if it was flooded with light it becomes extremely difficult to spot the tiniest of dark corners. That physical law is a reflection of how light will always be stronger than the dark, we just have to remind ourselves of this and hold that awareness in the darkest of times. I know we're going to make it; a very turbulent time is approaching, but I for one will keep my candle lit, and I know many other will too :) ☺🙏

That's very well put, can relate to that, especially the last 2 mins here, see now at the time it was to some extent fullfilling also a so called " need", a need to be needed , to give some kind of meaning to or a reason for existing or some feeling of belonging but very soon after would feel the others need overwelhming as it became an everyday something else. It's enough just to be here now without been needed or making a difference unless am drawn and feel inspired to do so ( I hope that's what I am listening to, it's hard to know the difference sometimes but there isn't any overwelhment now ) Thanks Eckheart very much for this

Dear Sir Eckhart... My daughter just turned 5 and English is our second language which she is just starting to learn. However, she refuses to go to sleep before I play her the evening's Eckhart Tolle's KZread message. I would like to believe that she gets the message that you talk about regardless of the obstacle of language. When the clip is finished, she will simply turn around and go to sleep. Kids are naturally conscious and it is immensely powerful to witness this firsthand. This mother is truly grateful for your true understanding of the only thing that matters... Consciousness.

Even though my ego has been exposed, it keeps showing up over and over again. In recent times the ego wields an incredible force that seem to throw me off balance. It creates insurmountable fear inside me. I feel a high degree of resistance that rises in me. Intuitively, I know the ego feels threatened. And he's trying to use tactics and manipulations to stay alive. But I can sense a smell of death of my ego.

We should always feel compassion towards those who are suffering and if and when the opportunity arises do what we genuinely feel able to do to ease their suffering then of course we should be prepared to help others , but we serve no useful purpose to them or ourselves by joining in their suffering with them. Telling other people how angry and upset we are about their suffering can be seen as our egos actually making other people's suffering all about us and how other peoples suffering causes us to suffer on their behalf. If someone is stuck down a well it does them no good at all for us to join them down the well. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Nothing that is real ever dies - our personal identity does. Most of us to varying degrees have experienced trauma; commonly in childhood. Having a parent who suffered greatly from mental illness probably insures a degree of trauma. But, as Eckhart teaches, whether we have a "good" self-image or a negative, troubling one, it amounts to an illusory identity. Childhood trauma has plagued me as well, but simple awareness that "little me", as Eckhart calls it, is a mind made construct - arbitrary and empty - has afforded great relief when realized. Suffering tends to obscure the truth, but the truth { like the sun' s warmth } never goes away.

I didn’t answer my phone or call someone back tonight and I realized their suffering was because of their expectations not being met. I understood this as me not causing their suffering. I feel validated in what you’re saying. They accused me of not respecting them. Then some resentment was stirred up inside me and I realized I don’t respect them. Then I asked myself why and how can I get there. Then i did a bunch of healing work writing myself a letter and forgiving myself. Now I know new boundaries must be in place or respect will not be given. It must be earned. I can’t respect someone who doesn’t respect themselves and it’s just not something i’m willing to change. My definition of respect cannot be altered to suit another.

A true friend will accept that sometimes the answer will unfortunately be " I'm sorry but I can't help on this occasion", anyone who can't accept " sorry no I can't" sometimes isn't a true friend and possibly needs to hear the word no more often from you. I know this sounds hard but when a favor becomes an expectation and see as an obligation then no is definitely the right thing to say. A true friend will not hold this against you, and if we are a true friend we won't hold their wish for dependency against them either but simply Accept they have lost sight of the boundaries 🙏🙏🙏🙏

actually when I was a therapist, I was lacking a lot of self love, and felt guilt about many things, but many of the clients thanked me profusely for helping them....I think we can absolutely "love others before loving ourselves", but at a huge cost to ourselves (our human "selves", anyway)....the answer is what Eckhart is talking about---to be in touch with our Real Selves (instead of trying to strengthen the ego of a fictitious self [which most psychology teaches])

Thank you for this content. I listen to Eckhart to find peace, and I use these videos as a form of meditation. But, I'm getting ads every three minutes in this video, which is really interrupting the flow of information. Yes, I can use the inconvenience caused by the interruptions to practice being present and practice not allowing it to bother me, but sometimes the ads last for several minutes, and KZread will play more than one, or the ads are for snake oil and similar scams, so I have to return to my pc to skip the ads if I want to get back to Eckhart and his message. Please set the videos to play ads less often! I'm 10 minutes into this video with 3 ads already, if the ads continue every 3 minutes, with 17 minutes left to go that's 5 more times I'll have to return to my pc to skip ads, for a total of 8 interruptions to a half hour meditation.

Lost? Never lost, you are home in Awareness/source. That you are aware, just "Be" ......let your thinking/thoughts be there, just don't pay them any attention, they will come and go. Your thinking is not you, you are Awareness having thoughts 😊

Oh man this hit home. I noticed my energy zapped tonight and that got the wheels turning. I have learned very well how to recharge myself but maybe the recharger will burn out eventually. Changes need to happen.

It's a very good thing to help and be kind to others but we also need to kind to ourselves sometimes, when we simply do have it in us sometimes to help others that's absolutely fine, but in my opinion the trick is, on the days you can't be kind, just don't be unkind 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Nancy, I know exactly how you feel.. it has happened that I have genuinely tried to be there for someone and then their expectations of me became constant and daily and I became overwhelmed, angry and resentful.. which probably says more about me than the other person, but this is something I struggle with quite regularly

this was great...I can relate b/c I became a therapist (after spending tons of money and putting in long hours of study) but quit after around 3 yrs of doing that work, because even though I "knew" I shouldn't try to solve people's problems, most of them wanted me to, and I was often deeply concerned about how to help them
