I myself have struggled with faith and religion. When i was younger i didnt know what the difference was but as i got older and went through my share of life experiences, i realize that i needed to pray and ask the Lord for strength to push, endurance to endure and understanding to understand. At times, i didnt want scripture preached to me, i just wanted someone to listen and understand what i was going through. Example: "Oh! I see you broke your arm! Let's get you to the hospital and get it fixed! Vs "Oh i see you broke your arm! Here, let me read the 23rd Psalm for you to make you feel better." A lot of times people dont want to acknowledge the daily ups and downs of life but gloss them over.

Any fellow "religious OCD" sufferers out there?😢

I followed Lordship salvation and Calvinism for 6 years since my salvation in 2018. 2 months ago I realized it was a false doctrine. I had been living with doubt every single day in my salvation because of religious ocd caused by Lordship salvation and Calvinism. I now know in the marrow of my bones that believing on the Lord Jesus Christ for my salvation is enough for me to spend eternity with Him. I had a pastor tell me, stop trying so hard. It was like a neon sign. Live your life. Don't try so hard to do everything right. It will drive you mad. Allow the Holy Spirit to live through you instead of trying to make certain you have Him by gaining your assurance through your service for God. Sometimes, God just wants us to represent Him to others through our example of Christ through kindness, forgiveness, and compassion. My mom told me, be a witness to everyone, use words when necessary. Hope this helps you. Allow yourself to live spiritually, naturally. Don't try and do it. You can't. None of us can. Acknowledge to God as well as yourself when you mess up. He will restore you. I promise. 😊

Meeeee!!! 😂 OCD has made me over think my faith and caused so much doubt over the years. I've eventually learned to differentiate between actual moments of doubt and my OCD making me crazy. You're not alone

My faith is in Jesus and I do not struggle with that. However that trust issue Im having a difficult time with right now due to a flood of trials.

Philippians 4:6 be anxious for nothing. Remember that he will neither leave you nor forsake you. He said we would have trials and tribulations but if we keep our Minds on him we will be in perfect peace. Isaiah 26:3 Even When sin tempts us He has given us a way of escape. His Word is true no matter what! His Word is true and we must stand on the Rock of our salvation. Proverbs 4:20 - 27 helps too. Fear not for he is with you.

No. He believes they are just not literal which is totally acceptable and not a salvation issue

I don't doubt God can help, but sometimes I feel he's slow to act. I pray/have faith yes. But I have to ACT as well. Otherwise prayer/faith would be nothing more but a wish. . . By the way, what can you say about this quote from Musashi: . . "Revere Buddha, and the gods (that includes our True God), without counting on their help.". ?

Love one and hate the other. Choose you this day whom you will serve. As for me and my house we shall serve The Lord Waiting should never be without pursuing His Word. Even in the hardest times he understands. Faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word of God.

Let it go. Its not worth holding on to. You dont need faith. You need facts. Let it slip and slide - fall though your hand and onto the ground, stomp it flat and walk away, you will find a much better path towards real things.
