Yeah. That's why the prepaid phone is as much as a month refill. Why refill when you can just get a new number each month. For those wondering the issue with this is unless your contacts are also changing numbers, then the gov will just wait and see what their number (assuming it is a static number) ends up contacting when they stop contacting the current known number. Remember, if you contact the same number with any number you have, then you may as well just have one number. It ain't hard to connect the dots

Remember, they do NOT need your phone number to track you. If they have a general idea of 2 places you've been in at rough times when you made calls, they can just use the data from the cell towers to pinpoint your phone and where you are. The phone does NOT need GPS to be located. You still need to be very diligent and careful, even with burners.

Apple phones for example are trackable even when "off" using the airtag technology. As long as the lithium battery has some charge in it the phone's powered down circuit wakes up and talks to nearby airtag devices. Burner phones should be off until needed and never use them near your Apple phone and never allow another friend/family to call your burner from a known number. Have the friend borrow a public phone (or friend of a friend of a friend) at a shop or best is get an insider at a telemarketing office/spammer to pass messages so it looks like a normal outbound call to your burner like it's a random number dial.

The fact that that most burners run on CDMA, 2g or virtual networks makes it extremely easy to track or intercept messages with hardware most law enforcement agencies are using these days called a stingray. What is hard is building a profile on its usage as they aren’t usually kept in service long enough to establish any significant data patterns (although not completely useless). The stingray can even force your newer smartphones into using one of these lower, unsecured modes which is how they are able to easily intercept and relay on things like text messages and even listen in on calls.

If the burner doesn't have GPS they can't get an accurate location fix. Cell triangulation isnt like what you see in the movies. It doesn't give you a single point. It gives you a large radius, perhaps 50 feet or greater depending on the environment, which if you're in a crowded area gives you plausible deniability. Besides, if you're stupid enough to bring your personal phone with you when you're doing shady shit, thats on you, not the burner phone

Where i live, burner sims do not activate until an already activated number calls them. Meaning that two burners cannot call each other without having a tie to an established number.
