That’s the saddest thing.
As a ballet dancer en pointe, I can confirm. XD it's kinda sad that not many people know this
I got bunions on both feet, saw this video make me will decide to swap narrow trainers to wide barefoot trainers to ease my feet better for walk alot at work. 😃 😊
You make valid points about shoes. However that is not the main cause of Hallux Abducto Valgus, otherwise everyone who wore non barefoot shoes would have bunions. Inherited bad mechanics are an underlying cause. This is why you get people with one parent with the same problem but not the other even though both parents wear normal shoes A short 1st metatarsal, combined with excess pronation is the general causation of a bunion. As the 1st metatarsal deviates to the midline of the body excess pronation assists the hallux into abduction (towards the 2nd phalanx) during the propulsive phase of gait. Love what youre doing though. ❤
I'm so glad I found your channel! Been dealing with bunions for almost my entire life. No more! Scrap those legacy shoe makers...
I finally have some toe spreaders to help defeat this. My next step is to get some for an even more intense toe spread.
That's horrible. I feel sorry for people who suffer from this.

My father and my grandpa has been wearing oxfords and point shoes their whole life but they don't have bunions. My mother that wore pointy high heel shoes to work developed bunions. I guess it's the high heels.
It pains alot and gives a lot swelling i wish i knew this earlier
Thanks for this - any info on a 'tailor's bunion', please?
How about kids?? I have a neighbor who has a bunions and her 10 year daughters toes are very much angled.. Can this level of damagee be caused in few years?

It's probably the shoes. Tell your neighbor about xero shoes or lems shoes. Both have wide toeboxes

Nope it can’t, it’s genetics.

I’ve had bunions since birth and only ever wore shoes with a wide toe box. It can absolutely be a genetic thing
Also, one big toe is weak the bone grows that way to overcompensate
ive noticed alot of women have this problem, they wear pointy shoes because it looks good, then later they get bunyuns, which dont look good.

A nightmare to find women's shoes with a broad toe-box.
Well we put up with inferior designs and ruin our feet. 😢

I don’t have bunions but large toe knuckles
Ok, this is true, but what now, how to resolve bunion, or find good shoes

There is a more effective bunion removal surgery (most products that "correct" bunions just keep it from getting worse not correcting it because its bone deformity)
