Siddharth as a human being was born in current day Nepal (Lumbini) who was later enlightened as the Buddha in Gaya(Bodhgaya, current day India) from where the Buddhism spread.

@@inquisitorbiden8522 No. Dalit Lama is Dalit. People living in Tibet are Tibetan Chinese. They raised the Chinese flag and sang Chinese National Anthem. All those who have fled to India aren't Tibetans. They are Dalit Tibetans who believe in caste system and serfdom.

I am Hindu from India but I love Buddhism a lot and believe in it too .

Wow, Yungang cave was built by the Northern Wei dynasty. Northern Wei is founded by nomadic Xianbei people over almost 1700 years ago. They were the northern people who originated in Mongolia steppes, Siberia and Manchuria. Although they weren’t exactly Han Chinese at their ancient times, they were indeed one branch of the Chinese ancestors. It’s very moving to see how diverse and inclusive Chinese have been. I am happy that Xianbei are honored as the ancestors as the rest of the many many tribes and ethnic groups throughout China’s long long history that created a collective Chinese civilization, and to make China what it is, and the Chinese who they are.

Actually,Bhuddhism never died in India.Its still there,but just not dominant.Majority of the Population ate Hindus.But still,there are millions of Bhuddhists present in different regions of India.Bhuddhism was at its peak during the Reign of Ashoka the Great during which it spread to SriLanka.And now it is the dominant religion in SriLanka.

Lol Today, smal Buddhist population in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan. Not died Buddhism in Central Asia. Another thing is that a large number of Buddhists did not even exist in Central Asia in the past. Tengrism was the predominant religion in Central Asia. Later they converted to Islam. But now the number of atheists in Central Asia is increasing and so are the number of followers of Tengrism.

Today, half of all the Buddhists in the world are Chinese and they live in China. So I thought that Buddha was Chinese, but he wasn't, he was actualy from either Nepal or India. There are many words of wisdom that Buddha has uttered, but my favorite is this:. TRUE WEALTH IS ACHIEVED BY ACQUIRING PEACE, HEALTH & A SHARED PROSPERITY. That pretty much summarizes how China as a nation operates.

Lol, because some kings didn't want Buddhism here in India( India and Nepal could be together roughly called the Indian subcontinent ).... So, they kind of forced people to convert back to HInduism or threatened them to kill or something.... Their was brutual force used in some kingdoms in India, others held debates whether Hinduism or Buddhism is better and the debatee would bet that if he wins the whole community should convert back to Hinduism.. Its complicated.... And hence slowly Buddism was erased somewhat in India....

It will be very educational to all in China as well as for International viewers if CGTN could also research n do a documentary on how Islam, came into China with Hui minority came to believe in islam n Christianity first came into China, during Italian Missionary Fr Matteo Ricci visit n stay. What abt Marco Polo visit n his return home to Venice n brought noodles(Pasta n rice) back to ITALY. Wouldnt that be a fascinating history of China, in contact with the world during those ancient silk route era. We already got to know abt the petite British young evangelical Christian, Gladys May Alyward, who came to China on a mission in 1902 n her life in China. She managed to stay n looked after orphans, n had a hard life but gradually was accepted for her kind deeds. She was such an inspiration!. Why not other religion too. To show the world that China was visited by these foreigners long before n how the different religion was brought into China n the many beautiful ppl n their belief living peacefully with each other, n the beautiful ancient Mosques, churches n Temples all dotting in and around China. Wouldnt that be a fascinating history for all of us, as well as International viewers, especially those younger generation will learn abt China's beautifully diverse n rich culture n history.

It’s not only very much in exchange with the world, it has received many many different people and ideas throughout its long history. It was the center or the foundation of the global trade for millenniums. For example, Chang’an, the capital of China Tang Dynasty was one of the biggest cities of its time and a great metropolis of the ancient world, with 20% of its populations were foreigners and hosted many different religions, from Zoroastrianism, esoteric Buddhism, to Nestorian. If you thought China was closed, maybe it’s time for learning some Chinese history if you are interested, it’s fascinating.

I doubt Buddha would have liked all that pomp around his person. Taoism makes much more sense to me because there is no point in reincarnation.

As a buddist country, we Sri lankns so much love China.. To be more specific, Great Buddha born in where now we call Nepal. He originally was a prince and his kingdom was there.. Not in today India..

Buddha was not born in Nepal, he was born in India. Siddharth Gautam was born in the clan of Shakyas in Nepal, however he was not a Buddha until he visited Bodhgaya in India and achieved enlightenment. You can say that Siddharth was born in Nepal, however Buddha was born out of him in India.

Incomplete info At that time Lumbini(in today Nepal) was a part of a hindu Dynasty there was no Nepal or india just a hindu South asia.today's Bihar is very close to Nepal he got in today's india and attained enlightenment at bodh gaya at 35 from then he was actually took as Buddha and did various sermons and stuff in India then died and various Indian rulers spread it to places like china,Sri Lanka,Japan etc

Only Buddhists devoted to practice of Buddhism are called descendants of Buddha. No hindu is a descendant of Buddha.

the values and teachings are more important than where Buddha was born! However, the fact should be told that Buddha was born in Lumbini which is a part of Nepal! India also named their part of land near to original Lumbini as their ‘Lumbini’ which created confusion among tourists and people are visiting the fake shrines of India! It is truth the Buddhism was flourished in India and contributed much in spreading but later Hindus dominated the country by being too cruel sometimes!
