You should do a video of how the U.S. wants that to happen. They're all working together. Countries acting as enemies is all theater. It's like professional wrestling. Yeah they'll have wars, but they're not concerned with dead peasant soldiers, or peasant civilians. War is big business, & a lot of politicians own stock.

Swapping currencies (or even reverting to some sort of barter trading) among BRICS members to conduct trades is the wise choice for now, but that should and need to eventually be enlarged into a common currency, much like the Euro, but backed by physical Gold. The idea is not to replace or overthrow the US dollar. At the rate they are going, the Fed will continue to print, and for each dollar of export shipped the producing countries will be paid a dollar of the US debt. Time and again, bucks are weaponized, and rendering many a sovereign no more than a colony.

Without trying to sound like a biased American, can someone explain to me how a bloc of Russia, China, and India is suppose to dominate the new world currency? These three countries cannot agree on literally anything especially in terms of currency. BRICS basically started between India and Russia when India wanted cheap Russian oil and wanted to pay with rupees. The Russians wanted rubles, and now here we are. China only complicates matters as India and China have a tenuous relationship at best. None of this includes Iran, South Africa, or Egypt all whom have varying degrees of economic turmoil. Do we really think China, India, or Russia will help any BRICS countries with bailouts any time soon? Who knows what US response will be if BRICS can ever get their shit together but that response will only make it harder for BRICS to dominate new world currency.

Internal trade between BRICS will bypass the dollar using the nations local currencies. Over time, more and more trade will be done among BRICS without the dollar. Dollar market share will drop internationally. Future BRICS joiners will be confident enough to trade without using the dollar. This method will continue over a few decades until they build a new common currency or stick with their working system. That's the theory, I guess. This is more likely to work the less the world trusts the USA. Printing trillions of magic money during covid, sanctions on countries they don't like, their blatant hypocrisy in the Israel-Gaza war etc. These are the things that caused trust in the US and financial system to drop. No country wants to be at the mercy of the mood of a current US administration. So there is definitely international demand for the service BRICS is offering.

  • @Sunopeek

You're starting from the premise that the project has already failed or is doomed to fail. It's too early at the moment to conclude that. All the countries are aware of the challenges, yet they still join because they believe in the vision of BRICS and will do what they can to make it work.

@@andrewrogers3067 well actually what I trying to say is that conversion number doesn't matter it's the acceptability of the currency that matters let's say there is two option to pay an equal amount of 1 million dollar in Japanese yen(153 million yen) or kuwati dinar(307k dinar) anyone in world would ask first to give in dollars if not then out of two there answer would be in yen. So acceptability matters to a global currency.

If they replaced the UK Pound you think they can't replace the USD. Look at all the countries joining Brics. Those are all the natural resource countries together with the largest manufacturer and trade partner of the world. If they have the will they will find a way. The US is stealing, confiscating other peoples foreign reserves and using the USD as a weapon for too long Nobody is going to put up with that stuff for too long.

My boy thinks a multi-national project which still is in its planing phase will be done in a few years (they just introduced the idea but one debunking after the other). Even without the introduction of a new joined currency, Brics already brought down the use of the dollar on the world stage. Stop living in the past.

I feel that the unlikely forerunner to seeing if the modern physical backed dollar with resources such as gold will actually be decided by the performance of Zimbabwe's ZiG dollar notes. It's the first time in a while emphasis has been placed over a gold backed note and if it doesn't perform well it could reflect the possible performance of the BRICS currency. The same could said for it's success

The dollar is accepted all over the world including all BRICS countries. Ever not Chinese businessmen and women prefer dollar over the yen until China forced them to use the Chinese currency. Developing countries couldn’t use their own currency because nobody wants the currency from a developing country since it’s unstable.

within this decade China will over take US as the biggest importer... so this argument about US economic dominance doesn't make sense anymore. especially taking the risk that the US has a habit of seizing other countries asset, it is no longer a secure medium of exchange. as to how the BRIC currency will be backed, simply with currency swap. we have been doing this in Asia since the Asian financial crisis in 97. so we have already proven this model can work and China has been preparing for it for 2 decade now.
