The nodes - the computers where the database is stored - are all over the world and anyone can run one. You can run a bitcoin node if you have 600 GB free disk space on your laptop. If a change is made to the bitcoin protocol (people always suggest changes) it can only be "enforced" if at leas 50% of the nodes voluntarily install that update. So most participants in the network must agree. With mining is the same - anyone can mine but in order to be profitable you need very cheap energy. So it's like an internet inside the internet where the units stored and exchanged are whatever you want them to be - we voluntarily assign them the meaning of "money" or "digital gold" - it's a freedom play like "go fu..k yourself! for me this us money. say it ain't so". since it's so hard (impossible) to hack it we ascribe the value of money to it because that would be the best usecase for such an incorruptible database

If it's that easy, how come it hasn't happened yet? One entity would have to buy or build billions of dollars worth of very specialized mining devices that just do one thing, run sha-256 hash. If this actually happened, the consensus nodes could change the algorithm to run sha-512 or another hash. Thus make ming all the original mining machines obsolete and that entity out billions.

Only you can make you learn what you need to know. One day, whether you understand how btc works or not, you WILL use it. If you learn now and buy, hodl on a cold wallet and forget about it, you'll be wealthy in the not so distant future. If you don't, you'll get btc at the price you can get commensurate to your energy input. Pretend it's 1999 and the internet is for sale and you could own some of it. Would you?

Trading on a demo account can definitely feel similar to the real market, but there are some differences. It's important to remember that trading involves risks and it's normal to face looses sometimes. One piece of advice is to start small and gradually increase your investments as you gain more experience and confidence. It might also be helpful to seek guidance from experienced traders or do some research on different trading strategies.

Discovering (or rather inventing) something like Bitcoin is a once in a lifetime event. The fiat monetary network has existed for a few centuries. Wasn’t until the last few decades we digitized it. Now we have a digital permissionless transparent open-source-based monetary network driven by a protocol that incentivizes fairness. Pretty drastic improvement on the old system. I doubt whatever “superior tech” comes along will be able to uproot the network effect Bitcoin has already achieved.

You can buy silver at $30 (ish) or $60 or $120 at a time ... or more - of course. 1/4 t ounce gold starts around $600USD ... so will about 20 oz (one "sleeve") of silver. You can do it!
