I love this game and the real map because when I was in LA I could compare the same exact places what was there 70 years ago. The location of my hostel on hollywood blvd is in this game too.

True Crime Streets of Los Angeles and or Just Cause 2 has a much larger overall map than GTA V...sadly TC: Hong Kong was scraped and instead we received a somewhat neutered/scaled down version of the original idea. Just Cause 3 ,on the other hand , is a terrific/wonderful sequel to JC 2...only much larger and grander in size of the map /number of side activities ! U^ｪ^U 💪 👻😏

Noire map wasn't a spec or a strip of the entire city of Angels...but it was trimmed down to only allow Cole Phelps to roam or traverse some of the city/region (even though the map had no reason to suffocate the user so much and or put up barricades near the outskirts of town). In my honest opinion the development teams of L.A. Noire became too ambitious and was sadly rushed to market/store shelves just like other IP's of yesteryear.

it's a shame this game didn't implement a "true crime" type of approach, you just cruise around and crimes pop up, in the meanwhile you have stores to go to, vehicle upgrades and so on. they could've kept the story exactly the same but just put a little more emphasis on the open world and this game would've had much more longevity.

I assume not, because this is Los Angeles, and in GTA V it's Los Santos. They're breaking the connection with reality, so it's not the same universe. Remember also that part of Los Santos was burnt down in the last mission of GTA San Andreas, which is in 1996, and GTA V is the same city 13 years later.

You can say the spoof cities exist alongside the real ones....mostly because of songs on the radio will mention real places and in the 3d universe at least, Miami and Florida are mentioned.
