How Batman even manages his Sleep?

Фильм және анимация

The Dark Knight, through his intensive training, has mastered the art microsleep a brief periods of unconsciousness, without his conscious awareness. While microsleep poses real-life dangers, Batman employs this ability to enhance his problem-solving skills.
Motivated by a tragic past, Batman with his intelligence, physical prowess, and an array of gadgets combats crime in Gotham City.

If you make the naps 45 min in length and take them frequently enough to add to 7 or 8 hours a day, then you actually will feel great. A full REM cycle = 45 min. You would be waking at the naturally easiest point of each cycle.

Yeah I maintain that he's at the very least a low level metahuman. His strategic/cognitive abilities and planning alone are ridiculous (plot armor aside for now.) There's a storyline where Darkseid manages to mind control and enslave Batman making him his main general...he would go on to conquer most of the galaxy and defeat the JL within like, weeks because of Bruce's genius level strategic abilities. Superman gets mind controlled almost monthly and they stop it in a day. Batman gets converted once and conquers the world lol.

Bruce is supposed to be in “peak physical condition”; built like Chris Bumstead, but with the cardiovascular conditioning of a CrossFit athlete. It is physically impossible (as in defies the laws of physics) for a person to achieve that without 7-9 CONSECUTIVE hours of sleep, on a consistent basis. If all you’re doing is “Micro napping” a few times a day (even if it totals up to several hours), then your body will begin to deteriorate pretty quickly, and your cognitive functioning goes along with it. The whole “micro napping” thing pushes Batman into the territory of “super-human”; which kind of takes away from his character IMO. Batman, needs his rest - he’s only human.

I came here looking for this comment. I suffer from terrible insomnia and have done since I was very young - around 4/5 years old. Nothing helped/helps. The most terrifying microsleep experience I had was when I was driving home, at 2am from a work's Christmas party. I don't drink, and was stone cold sober, but I'd been at work since 6.30am/7am right through to the Christmas party. I was 3 miles from my home, on a straight stretch of road, at 2am on an icy night. I remember the start of the road, and the next thing I know, I was 200 yards further down the road, and had drifted into the next lane of the dual carriageway. I was very lucky I woke up when I did. Had I not, I would have ploughed into the newly erected roundabout.☠️

Microsleep can be helpful, not to replace 8-10 hours of sleep but to raise processes during the day, fall asleep in a chair with a key or something small and metal in your hand, place a plate under the hand to catch it, and when you fall asleep you'll release it and the item hitting the plate will wake you up. I can't really explain it but if you're tired in the middle of the day or have brain fog it can really help.

@@dofydudes1735 i always believe Batman has the power of "hypercompetence," or "superhuman skills" is what they call it, where you're competent in every talent/skills in every fields, and capable of accomplishing virtually impossible feats with ridiculous ease. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm pretty sure Kryptonians dont actually need sleep. Thanks to the yellow sun, they never run out of energy and are always feeling refeshed.

He is literally friends with an alien that has access to highly advanced extraterrestrial technology and yet he uses controlled sleep deprivation to get more ooomph throughout the day? Boy, the writers of the Batman comics have really gotten dumb over the years lol. Superman could literally synthesize a drug or piece of technology that keeps Batman from having to do this. Superman has super intellect as well. If he can help Batman design the Hellbat suit he can help Batman get some sleep!

I actually used to have big problems with the break in consciousness from sleeping, especially when it came to trying to get off of drugs because i would feel like i woke up as somebody else and completely lose all the drive and focus I had before sleeping, not to mention I found that the longer i sleep the more tired i am when I wake up. Since i got off the drugs, i can't sleep for more than a couple hours at a time without having a dream/nightmare and waking up, or having to get up to pee, but I have found it has substantially helped me avoid that feeling of waking up as basically a completely different person, with a different stream of consciousness, and helps me stay focused in staying away from drugs. I do have to take naps during the day, however, but overall i sleep a lot less than i used to. I should note, however, that i was diagnosed with narcolepsy at 16, and that i can fall asleep and go into REM sleep extremely quickly, so I don't know if this would work for a normal person the same way. I used to sleep 10-16 hours a day, usually in a row with a break to pee, but now i sleep a total of probably 6-8 hours a day, with one to two naps each an hour or two hours long during the day and a set of 2 naps at night for 2-3 hours each with a pee break in between. It used to be impossible for me to get up too, having to set 10 alarms or rely on someone else to wake me, but having a sleep schedule where i sleep when i feel sleepy instead of fighting it for hours on end has allowed me to sleep significantly less, and be more alert when i am awake.

I've always wondered when he slept. Now I know. Hell I didn't even know Micro Sleep was an actual thing. You really do learn something new everyday.
