What ever happened to people actually putting snow tires on their cars? Y'all live up north in the winter it would seem that it is just common sense. The world we live in has lost its ever lovin mind. Good thing y'all didn't defund all the police, looks like they were helping everyone out big time. They deserve a big thank you for the service to the community.

Even cheaper and easier than switching to snow tires every winter is.... For around $25 they can buy a set of 2 tire chains for snow and keep them in your trunk . $50 would buy them a set of 4,which is better to have all 4 wheels chained, they'd be able to drive through that snow no problem. I mentioned tire chains for winter/snow to this idiot lady who never heard of them and she thought I was a complete idiot for talking about such a crazy idea as putting chains on car tires to drive in snow. She's never seen or heard of tire chains so that somehow makes me the idiot not her.

Sand, carpet sample scraps for traction, extra gas, windshield washing fluid, Extra fluids that your vehicle over uses and gloves for the inside of heavier gloves followed by mittens, scarves, hats and real boots for weather not shoes extra socks...and food, water all winter. You can survive anything if you are prepared. There is alot more to add to this list but these are the basics.

Hell, thats just a normal winter day in Northern Michigan. They didn't even get that much snow! We get what's called lake effect( look it up) and can get a foot of snow an hour. Back in 1978 we got buried with 4- 1/2 feet of snow with 15 foot snow drifts. I remember not getting out for 5 days. They used snowmobiles to deliver food and medicine. They even used sleds as an ambulance! Our down town streets became cross country skiing runs. They used road plows to pick up nurses to get them to the hospital because those stuck there ended up working 4 days straight.

Obviously, don't know why they are on the roads, but, before I retired, if there was a snow storm a'coming and the snowing was definitely going to begin on a work day, that was a day that I would call in and simply tell the powers to be "I'm taking a personal day." End of conversation. And that was with only having 2 1/2 miles between home and work. Many hills to navigate (and may or may not have been treated yet in the a.m.) and a promise of many idiots on the road giving no heed to the road conditions. Never got an argument.
