Oh gosh, this is close to accurate. 😂 It's like whoever had the most difficult childhood wins. My dad would often tell a similar story of having had to cross a mountain barefoot just to get to school and my mum would often tell how she had to wake up early to do farm chores and feed the animals before going to school so she often smelled like a pig because water had to be drawn from a neighbor's well so bathing was a luxury. And both would move on to say that despite the hardships, they pushed through with their education and were able to find decent work and earn enough to provide us, their children, a comfortable life and all they're asking from me and my brothers are straight A's.
