How Arizona State Swimming Went From Being Cut in 2008 to Winning a NCAA Team Title in 2024

In 2008, Arizona State cut the swimming program, but it was saved and maintained by a grassroots fundraising effort by students, coaches, and alumni. In 2015, ASU hired Bob Bowman to revitalize the program. And now, 9 years later, the ASU men have won their first NCAA team title in program history.

YEAH GO DEVILS!!! Def gonna try to show up to swim meets next year, it's nice to have a sports program at the school that performs at this level.
I can’t believe I doubted Bowman. But I remember how skeptical I was the first time I heard him say he intended to turn that program into an NCAA champion. Just an unbelievable turn around.
ASU swim team rose from the ashes to stand at the mountain top ... how appropriate that they're in the Tempe / Phoenix area.
