i teared up seeing how determined the girl was. she truly has the mindset of a trainer and i hope she continues pursue that dream.

I just want to point this out since under literally any video like this there are always and I mean ALWAYS, people saying that there is a softer, kinder approach and that the poor dog is scared. Um. Ok? The fact that the dog is behaving territorially is natural in the sense that it was a stray and had to survive and defend itself for food. However he is living in a home with people now and needs to learn to share that territory with human beings and learn that it is a safe place. I would like to note Mr Kang is not being overly aggressive or dominant at all with the dog. He doesn’t punish the dog for biting him nor does he raise his voice or use excessive force. At 1:55 when he holds the dog by the scruff of its neck it doesn’t hurt the dog in any way, it only causes discomfort. As a vet student I can 100% confirm that this is a frequently used method to subdue an overly stressed or dangerous animal. Many animal species get picked up by the scruff of their neck when they are younger by their mother when they do something wrong. It is a way of reprimanding the animal by essentially disabling it to do anything else by lifting it off the ground. It DOESN’T HURT THE DOG when done right. As you can see Kang doesn’t solely hold Bom by the scruff he also supports his body by the chest. So not all the dogs weight is bearing on its scruff. The leash training here is very important. Of course the dog will feel discomfort since it is not used to wearing one. Just like with puppies who when they are young pull a lot on the leash, older dogs who are not used to this will do that too. It is something it needs to get used to and learn that it isn’t a scary thing. (The same way a horse would need to acclimate to having a saddle on its back or a cat would to having a collar) The only way it can get used to this is by repetition. Kang teaches the girl to hold the leash slack, which is very important since you don’t want the dog to feel like it’s being pulled anywhere, it needs to feel like it can walk on it’s own. Lifting the leash upwards slightly lets the dog see the leash when it’s pulling on it, this is important since it won’t then feel like something invisible is preventing it from moving. and doesn’t put pressure on the dogs airway the way it would if you pulled in the opposite direction of which the dog is pulling. Many owners of puppies do this when their dogs are learning to use the leash. It’s bad for your dog and can cause bruising and scarring in the neck area if your dog pulls hard. People. I implore you, if you’re doing this on purpose because you think your dog will listen or unintentionally because your dogs lead is too short or you didn’t know. Please try out the method they show in this video. It really works. Anyways. Just wanted to say that the approach to training this dog is very applaudable and I have so much respect for that girl and their mother for A. Adopting and B. Keeping the dog even when it has behavioral issues and C. Actually seeking help to treat their dog

@@skullsrnneed A "cage" like that is called a "bench" in dutch idk what it's called in English. Many people actually have one when they train a dog or when a dog is a puppy. It's first and foremost a safe space for the dog, a lot of dogs will go sleep in their bench even if the door is open, it's a place other people can't reach them, it doesn't need to be big, in fact, it's better to be more cosy, as long as the dog can move around comfortably enough to lie down. It can also be used as a time out corner if your dog has been naughty. Example. The dog has chewed something up and is all excited. You then put him in timeout in the bench to calm down. Like the naughty step/corner for kids. ( I hope that was a good explanation, I couldn't think of how to word it differently sorry.)

the thing that seemed stupid to me was that he went into that small cage with the dog. the dog is scared as hell and a stranger invades his safe space, leaving him no way to escape, what do you expect him to do other than to attack? you need the dog to trust you, not to be terrified even more. what he did probably didn't help the dog but made his behaviour even worse.

I love this episode so much! The girl is so brave & determined to rehabilitate her Jindo. Hope she can become a great trainer like trainer Kang. And the Mom just precious, though she said she's fed up with the pup in her heart she's concerned about the well being of the pup. Just LOVE!

When will this episode show. It's really good one of how to train the stray who you have adopted. Stray dogs survive harsh live outside and mostly walk freely so they are hard at leash training. They are easily cautious. This girl is so brave and calm.

and suddenly a lot of people under the comments of this show became professional dog trainers like they could just whisper to the dog to be kind, not bite and everything will be okay oof lmao

LOVE THIS SHOW. HE IS REALLY GOOD WITH THE DOGS. YOU KNOW WHEN A DOG ACTS LIKE THAT ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF LEASH, THE DOGGY IS IN FEAR. EITHER SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED ACCIDENTALLY OR WAS ABUSED. THIS IS JUST ONE WAY THEY COMMUNICATE. POOR FUR BABY AND OWNER. IT IS HARD FOR HER TOO.

One of my fav eps. It was one of the first I watched of this show and helped me to learn that the happiness of a dog and its family really depends on how committed the owner is to training especially if it has to overcome/uncondition bad habits. I too was impressed by the young owner who was able to stay firm and able to intuit the dog's emotional state/mood.

It feels like a big compliment for her when he said that, Mr Kang was proud of her 😢

@@ishanithakuria8221 unfortunately, I work at an animal shelter, we take in strays so we rarely keep them long enough to fix issues and because it’s a government run facility we aren’t allowed to train or handle aggressive dogs

I would rather say a *traumatized* dog.. If he really was dangerous he would have bitten the trainors legs to get rid of the leaf. He has to understand Human isn't his enemy. He's just scared. If someone broke into my house, the first thing i would do is to take a knife.

I can understand him acting like that at the trainer who is a stranger but if he acts like that to his owner too who has done nothing but love him then he’s a dangerous dog who I wouldn’t trust around anyone especially kids. Look the trainer hasn’t even done anything bad to him, he got bit in the hand already. He’s out of control. Then just because he has a collar on , he freaks out like someone is beating him. Sorry but bad dog to me. Not trusting him with anyone.

Why that idol keep getting uglier

I don't think thst kind of training is the right method. What Mr. Kang do is simply make Bom submit with force. Mr Kang enter Bom territory + he keep making Bom stressed (that's why Bom keep biting him, it a self-defense) + Mr Kang rushed and skipped so much step that necessary for bonding with animals. Mr Kang doesn't show any kind of Respect and Trust to Bom, so it make sense for Bom to do the same to him. And what make this is even scarier is, even if in the end Bom become nice and calm (because his choice is really keep resisting or stressed), deep down Bom still traumatized/scared about that. Every animals can tolerate stress at some degree, until it reach the roof and can't tolerate anymore, Bom would act like a mad dog. Now that wouldn't be too much of problem if it happened in owner's house, but what if it happened in public ? That would be pretty bad.

Why does everyone wants to control dogs like what if you were at his place you wouldn't like to be controlled either and you say oh we are just trying to help!!!! Helping him by putting a leash on him first try putting it on yourself then you'll understand how uncomfortable that is
