How Apple Made The iMac So Thin
Ғылым және технология
Apple just introduced their new generation of iMac at the Spring Loaded event, and it has a lot of new features. Including a FaceTime camera, spacial audio, and a professional studio mic array. But what's getting most of the attention is the iMac's new design. It's not only colorful, but also super thin. Over 3x thinner than the previous generation iMac model. So how was Apple able to pull this off? Well that’s what I, Greg from Apple Explained, will be explaining right now.

It's really pointless to make it thinner since the actual desk footprint will be more than occupied by the stand and the actual "functional empty space" required. But it is nice though. I would have preferred a thicker Imac with more options.

Seriously, what’s the point. Also Intel has already combined the CPU, GPU and RAM in 2017, pretty sure apple took that and rebranded it. It’s pretty much an APU but with random access memory. I mean, technologically speaking, screens have been getting thinner since its conception - on any device that has one. I might would use Apple computers if they were as open to use as Windows. They are just too restrictive in what you can do and put on them. Though I like using Laptops, and with Windows, I have a large variety of different hardware configurations to choose from. As for example, so manufacturers make their mouse buttons very hard to press down, which would be fatiguing to push all day long. With Apple, you're always stuck with whatever hardware they choose.
I am surprised they weren't "courageous" enough to just remove the headphone jack.

I was disappointed by how the new models still had bezels around the screen, even more so (verging on annoyance) that they made it light so it was guaranteed to stand out. ...but the screen is still larger and how/where they repositioned the Ethernet is a stroke of genius. The colours harken back to the days of the classic iMac (I've seen some compare them to other products that came out later) and are a nice touch to help make your Mac yours. Power connecter is great and the lack of I/o is no biggie even though there's bound to be backlash. USB-C hubs are extremely cheap and affordable for anybody nowadays. For around £15-£20 you can get several USB-A, ethernet, SD card slot AND HDMI. The audio jack on the side is a nice touch as well and will make it much easier to find. I did notice the lack of the Apple logo sticker on the front though. I may have just not noticed it but I didn't spot a logo anywhere. Feels kinda naked without it.
I can see and hear Gregs smile on his face while he’s pitching the subscribe button😁
