How Apple Became a $1 Trillion Company
Ғылым және технология
So you may have already heard that Apple’s valuation crossed one trillion dollars on Thursday August 2nd, but you may not know exactly what that means. So before we get into the story of how Apple grew to become a one trillion dollar company, let’s first get an understanding how a company’s value is calculated. So you can calculate any companies value by multiplying how many shares of that company exist by how much each share is worth. And whatever number you get is called the company valuation, or value. Now this number constantly changes depending on whether the company’s share price goes up or down, or if they initiate a stock buyback, so although Apple has broke the one trillion dollar mark, they may fall back under that number as their value moves up and down.
So now that we understand how Apple’s value is calculated, let’s explore their incredible journey from a one hundred million dollar company to a one trillion dollar company. It all started on December 12th, 1980. That’s when Apple went public and first listed on the stock market. They were able to sell 4.6 million shares at twenty-two dollars a piece. Which meant at that time, Apple was worth 101.2 million dollars. Now you may be wondering why so many people bought Apple stock at that time considering the company had just been founded four years earlier. Well in those four years Apple had accomplished quite a bit. They had already released the Apple I, Apple II, and Apple III, with revenue increasing by 533% every year. That meant by 1980 Apple was generating $118 million in revenue annually. And that kind of growth was definitely something investors wanted a piece of. So there was actually a very high level of anticipation of Apple becoming listed on the stock market, and when it finally happened, investors jumped at the opportunity. But despite this financial head start, Apple was worth just 1/10,000 of what it is today.

It’s truly inspiring to see Apple accomplish this. What many people don’t know is that Apple nearly went insolvent in 1998. If that had come to pass, revolutionary pieces of technology like the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad wouldn’t exist today. But then, Steve released the iMac G3 in 1998 and it was a turning point for Apple and the tech industry altogether. The iPod, an incredible piece of technology, followed afterwards in 2001 and increased Apple’s success. Then, in 2007, they created the masterpiece known as the iPhone, which changed everything. And when you thought they couldn’t innovate more, in 2010, the iPad was released and it was a giant success. If Apple went bankrupt, they wouldn’t exist and they’re magic would not be realised. Say what you want about Apple today, but you got to give them credit for pulling this off.

TLG1700 It’s not worth less really. Glass and stainless steel construction, dual OIS camera lenses, edge to edge display with no chin and minimal notch, fastest processor, water resistant, the list goes on. In 2017 there wasn’t a phone that could offer everything the iPhone X could and was as premium.

See those Apple computers @3:42? I had them all, almost! I had a Quadra 605, 610 and 650, and later an 840AV. I both of those keyboards (the one on the right was of Apple’s best keyboards they ever made - considered by many to be Apple’s IBM Model M). I also had a couple of those Apple monitors on the right. Don’t think I bought the one on the left, nor the geo modem either. The Quadra and the 68040 CPU that ran them were fast and fun to use. The good old days.
Interesting video !

I love apple as a company. They make great products. Some people may argue that products are expensive but you get what you pay for. I can’t live without ios iphone x may be selling at 300% profit margin but this extra cost is for the software in it

So far, so good, APPLE has a place in technology-land and is it far ahead, keep going strong, thanks for showing and kind regards.
Missed some key points like the death of Jobs and the 2008 financial crisis but great video nonetheless.
great video, just wish it would have touched a bit more on how Jobs got them to where they are; why Apple wanted/needed him back from next; how the physical Apple stores gave them an edge; how their marketing played a role; how iOS and, most importantly, how the App Store impacts the valuation.

Unfortunately, once Steve resigned his CEO position, he was loosely on the board of directors for Apple. At that point his health was taking its turn for the worse and didn't have much say over Apple until his death.

What is the purpose of the voting poll if you use the last place winner?
We should observe that the key to Apple's milestone being achieved is primarily a sustained innovation on a single product and that is the iPhone with it's tightly knit Ecosystem... iPhone X caused great excitement across the globe, and I use one too But the glorious days of Apple may not sustain long enough
Can u imagine if you bought Apple shares way back when Steve Jobs just returned

Thanks! This puts it into perspective. It's a marker / goal for sure, but it's still 'stock; evaluation. Meaning it isn't 'cash' just what the stock would sell for if sold on the market at that time. Wonder if Amazon will be the next 1 tri-lll-ion dollar monster?

Doang Mawar if you want a good cheap laptop get the 12” MacBook, it’s a lot better than the MacBook Air. Or you could get an iPad Pro and keyboard which has the same functionality with the added bonus of having a touchscreen.

don't bother with the macbook since the keyboard is hard and expensive to repair, instead by an iMac or iMac Pro or get a 2nd hand macbook from 2008-2012 where the keyboards are easier to repair
