Great video, subscribed and will be watching part 2. I live in Central FL 10 min to the beach. Its amazing how things change in a 2 yr period. Leaving FL and going to GA, purchasing a couple acres with LG horse barn. Looking to take that one side of the main barn, lean to and converting to living space. After that, will probably take a good portion of the lofted area in the barn. Disabled so can't finish it but will help me lay it out and figure out some costs. Thank you for sharing.

Good job Jack that makes a nice little addition to your house and with little Jack you're going to need the room has somebody that has been in construction their whole life the only thing different I would have done is for some concrete in between the brick pillars on the one side where the water comes through to mount the bottom plate too it all in all great job👍

Hopefully you don’t get termites in you new addition. It would have been smart to build a concrete curb 8” above grade to keep the framing above grade, and the siding at least 6” above grade. Nice to have that added space already roofed.

I want to do this to my house to use the extra space as a new kitchen. My only concern is the ceiling height out there is about 7.5ft so to make it comfortable we would need to probably take that part of the roof off and raise it. Also wondering how difficult it would be to get water/sewer out there.

Hey great video. I have a question. Because I have a similar carport and thinking about closing. Could you have supported the roof with steel post and took down the brick to give you more space? I'm actually going to use it as a one car garage and taking down the brick pillars will give me more side space.

Why not take out the brick columns and put wood ones up? Since all they are holding up is the carport roof, right? Looks awesome, love your down to earth no bullshit videos.
