It isn't actually, when the majority of us whites are trying to wipe out the black bloodlines and elevating anyone that goes along with it while punishing with poverty any negroes that won't. It is genetic genocide, and not promoted for racial unity, but rather to eliminate a less desirable race without playing the bad guy and using other violent means to reach the same goal. Anytime you genetically merge 12% into 80%, you will end up looking like and thinking like the 80%. Nothing good comes out of destroying one race in order to bring about social change. The blacks should've been allowed to assimilate without effecting their Afro looks, dances, music, cuisine, hair texture, or African culture. After all, no one forced the whites to give up who they were to remain in the country.

@@mabeaute8963 The problem is these other things you bring up can be found in lots of other countries, including the USA and Brazil, , that still have lots of visible AfroAms. The difference is that Argentina did not have a large black population in absolute numbers, so when a big wave of European immigrants arrived later, they absorbed the much smaller black population to a large degree. And one more thing, medical science was so crappy in the 19th century that it hardly mattered whether you had access to professional physicians.

Here's the real dirt: Argentina's climate is not well suited to sugar or even tobacco production, but it is great for raising cattle, who do not need a large work force to manage. The total number of slaves in Argentina was just never large, and that 37% was just for Buenos Aires when it was a much smaller city than it is today. The huge number of European immigrants in the 20th century swamped the black population which was small in total numbers, so they got diluted into invisibility.

I don't pay no mind. I spent time in Argentina a couple of years ago and had a good time. Argentinians looked at me as if my brown color was no big deal and treated me with respect like everyone else, even in places (like Ushuaia) where you don't even see light brown skin let alone basic brown like me. I know I can't generalize and think nobody black will have issues. But I've known some blacks who have been down there and none had any issues at all. Are there racists in Argentina? Yes. Heck, the population is 46 million....you're going to find some racists. Does that mean everybody in Argentina is racist just because there are racists there? Common sense says no. We have to stop generalizing. And we also need to stop thinking that just because people in a place thought a certain way and did things a half-century to centuries ago doesn't mean that the masses in that place think and do the same today. That's common sense also. A lot of times people just look at the color and nationality of a person and instantly make a conclusion without even trying to find out what his/her inner person is like....as if somehow race and nationality defines who an individual person is on the inside.

Just in case you would be interested, there's a Black African woman from Angola, living in Argentina, and uploading videos in YT about what's like being Black in Argentina. The chanel name is "Zurilym", and always in Spanish (you can tweak the subtitles to have their translation into English). I'm surprised about the relative good speed we Argies got rid of our racism. We are very classist though (happens everywhere) and, like everywhere, the ones who suffer the most from it are the poorer sections... which tend to be majority brown because inmigrants, or their sons/grandsons, from fellow Latin American countries.

Not true. Black population was really small in argentina. It wasnt a explotation colony. In fact, chile, paraguay, bolivia have no black population neither. Spain didnt bring them (uruguay is different because it was also portuguese and brazilian). Most of african genes vanished with mixing (thats why is 30% just in bsas by 1770 when the city was merely a village) and an influx of european immigrants that surpasses 4:1 tthe existing local population (were blacks were really few and suffer a lot during the yellow fever)

The video confused me at times with its images… some were from New Orleans or Brazil. It also contains a number of overstatements. The black population assimilation started in 1813 when the newly formed government (in lieu of the Spanish viceroy that had been ousted during the Napoleonic wars) declared that all black babies born after that year would be free. No civil war to end slavery, no turmoil to shift into a non-slave-based economy. It’s true that slaves participated in the independence war (before Argentina even existed), but they were volunteers to fight against the Spanish Empire since Spain allowed slavery in her colonies. It’s also true they were later in the frontlines of the Paraguay war (with countless massacres, and epidemics, that decimated local populations, not only black soldiers). In the late SXIX and early SXX, the European immigration changed demographics, since African folks could freely marry Caucasian spouses, and live wherever they could afford. There were never Jim Crow style laws in Argentina. Just to think that there were as many Italians in Argentina as in the USA at the time.

I survived the good and bad of the USA for 79 years. I am not afraid of anything, and I support myself, and help honest none beggars. Good and evil is everywhere. I moved to Queretaro in 2021 at 79, and God warns me on about evil and dishonest monsters. This is my 82nd year with GOD as my guide. Happy in cool Queretaro since 2021. Over 62 years traveling Mexico, mainly Acapulco, all 50 USA states and the world on my own dime from working. Stop killing each other.

My question is important because the time frame determines the veracity of some of the statements being made. Did the increase of European immigration to Argentina begin before or immediately after the wars in Europe caused by Napoleon? The Spanish viceroyalty of La Plata wasn't conducive to labor-intensive crops such as tobacco and sugar cane, so the demand for slaves may not have be as huge as it was in Haití, Trinidad, Jamaica and the southern USA. There many important points that this video does not address.

Slaves arrived in small numbers from XVI on. BA was not an authorized trade port till late XVIII, most slaves were imported through specific contracts (asientos) with the crown (or smuggled from Brazil). Slaves were mostly used as domestic service or artisans (stipendiary slavery). There were some plantations (small ones) in the North West (linked to Potosí silver ⛏️. That circuit decayed from 1811 on). It was a 🐮 breeding economy. The miscegenation process is well documented in the XVIII. Accelerated during the first half of XIX (more of advantages for mixed free people, end of trade). The whitening happened in late XIX when 5.6 million immigrants (aprox) was added to 1.8 million 🇦🇷.

So, the only curiosity that I have is what seems to be a legal discrepancy from the decrees of 1512 and the Leyes Nuevas of 1542 specifically forbid miscegenation which broadly applied to mulato & euro marriages. The major concern of mixed marriages was making sure that the precepts of the Church relative to marriage/religious rigor, such as baptism, no common-law relationships, and making sure that newborns were immediately baptized. The subsequent American revolutions worked against the rights that indigenous people had since 1512 and even limited rights and protections for enslaved Africans. For more in depth on the pre revolutionary Spanish empire , there are quite a few YT channels on the topic.

The nearly 15 minute video has few historical facts. So I would guess much of the script was ChatGPT generated. It doesn't make sense because : a) you think white people were affluent. Not necessarily. Most Europeans who arrived in 🇦🇷 were extremely poor and lived in the same places and conditions afro Argentines did b) Spaniards already came from a mixed society, they mixed from the beginning (marriage included, w/natives and black people, it's in XVI texts). c) Black people mixed w/native Americans too. Native Americans didn't think in terms of race, but ethnicity, and they mixed when they saw it convenient. And since slavery was passed through maternal line, and natives were free, many black men coupled w/ native women . Their children would be free. d) You probably think all afro Argentines were poor. It was not like that. Slavery was stipendiary and many of them were already buying properties, slaves, lending money in XVIII- early XIX.

I wouldn't be surprised if interracial marriage was responsible for a big portion of the disappearance. Black people harbor too much self hate and cannot value their blackness. Therefore, they are incapable of uniting under a common cause to fight off an enemy or any threat. Black people are deficient at "loving one another." That love is what creates unity. If a few years later the population was 10 million... that means that those 120k that were 15% of the population, now represents about 1.2% of it... that's the whole "erasing"... maths. Simple maths. By the way, interracial marriages were always allowed in Argentina (even in the colonial days). Slavery was ALWAYS ILLEGAL in Argentina, it's on its first constitution, literally. Black people was allowed to participate in politics (the first President of Argentina, Bernardino Rivadavia, was of african descent) and black people were always allowed to vote (except when nobody was allowed to vote, obviously). Black people was always allowed in schools and universities. As I said, the first president was of African descent and he was a lawyer. They used to call him ""Dr. Chocolate"... but he was a Doctor in Law, and he was a president. In 1826! Imagine that.... There was never a single anti-african legislation in Argentina and there was never racial segregations. Stop trying to fit USA history into other countries, it doesn't work like that.

Funny story. When I visited Brazil, with a tour group of Americans, our tour guide explained that there were black Brazilians and white Brazilians, and that she was the latter. Well, after her statement, the majority of passengers on the bus snickered. They, the Afro-Americans on the bus chuckled, as everyone on the knew that back in the states, she would have been deemed an Afro American woman, but a light skinned woman. That was her truth in Brazil. But in the US, the majority of the populace would have deemed her as being a light skinned AA woman. Goes to how preposterous the concept of race is.

All of Latin America underwent more racial mixture than North America. The Spanish and Portuguese certainly slaughtered most of the Indians during the 1500s and 1600s but for those that remained there was much intermingling more so than North America where the Indians were shoved on to reservations.
