    Thank you! I was worried I was giving my babies too much water. I usually do a few spritzes to get the top soil moist, and then (since I only have a few) I use a little condiment bottle filled with water to water around the baby so that the water soaks down into the soil. I've lost 2 babies out of the 7 I started, but my other 5 are thriving!!!! I'm so happy 😊 I saved 2 succulents that were on my wedding bouquet. I cut a bit of their stems off and let them root over a glass of water then I planted them. 1 of the mommas isn't doing the best but it's still alive. The other one is doing great! Full and healthy with nice coloring to the tips, and it even sprouted 4 flower stalks!! In winter!!!! Now I have my 5 remaining babies so I can just keep propagating them and always have a piece of my wedding day with me 😁

    Thank you for sharing your plant babies with us. Your video was very helpful and I’m so glad you spoke about the different growth progression. Plus I just love watching your videos and hearing your excitement over each one. I live in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and we have a lot of humidity and unpredictable weather (72 F today and in two days the high is 40 F as well as wet and dry spells) so watering is always a balancing act for me and root rot is one of my biggest issues besides. I never imagined using a sprayer to water but I will now. Thanks again for sharing with everyone. ~Sarah

    The question of when to water this place in Korea or the place or succulents, how much water should be given is the same~^^ I, too, are the subject of KZread videos, often dealing with the question of when and how to water. In particular, in Korea, the four seasons change clearly and there are summer and rainy seasons, which makes it more difficult to water the watering method and timing.

    You're reading my mind again LOL I was just wondering yesterday if I was watering my babies too much. The ones that have separated from the mother leaf. It would be such a shame to lose them at this point to root rot or something. I was just thinking all of this just yesterday!!! I would probably cry for days if I lost any of them at this point. Sometimes if they have very small Roots I will water The Roots just a little bit and then water around the roots more deeply to encourage the root growth. Is there any magic way to get roots to grow on a detached baby with no roots? And by the way thank you very much for giving us so many videos lately I'm just soaking it all in 😃

    The pleasures all mine Janet. Just love sharing information with others. To encourage baby succs to root when they have no roots, I find that if the mother leaf has dried out, it's best to remove it and lay it on top of a moist coco peat and I mist/water it when I see the top layer's dry. But then again, it all depends on the specie and variety.

    Hi Liz, I’ve never seen soil wetter used with succulents before. Do you use it just for the baby ones so that the soil doesn’t dry out so quickly? I recently did a tray of leaf propagations in soil. Would this also help them?

  • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK

    @GrowingSucculentswithLizK

    Any soil will become hydrophobic after a while resulting in repelling the water instead of absorbing it.. Soil wetter as the name suggest increases the wettability of hard to wet soils, allowing deeper penetration of water into the roots and I use it on all my succulents. I don't water often. I always water and then let the soil dries up completely and them water again. This is for mature plants. For babies, I water when the soil level where the roots are, are dry. Depends also where I keep the babies and how frequent the soil dries up. Sometimes everyday, sometimes once a week and sometimes once a month if they are out in the open and if we get a lot of rain.

    No Idea at all. Use to write them all down when I started. Last count was (variety)Echeveria 323, Sempervivum 61, Haworthia 20, Aloe 26, Graptoveria 18, Kalanchoe 12 and so on and so forth.....I'm counting the numbers in my head and I think I'd have at least over a thousand different varieties...

    Watering babies/propagated succulents are different to ones that are already grown. You have to take into consideration, your soil, the specie of succulent, your weather, the pot that you put your succulent in also matter and where you put your succulents. This is not an easy topic to tackle here on the comment but may I suggest you keep watch on my future videos on watering succulents. Cheers

    Then why some succulents gardener say don't water Rossetti water only roots. There is a special nozzle watering bottle available to water succulents roots only. Don't they get rought due to moisture accumulation on top?

    How do you think these plants get watered by nature? The rain falls on top and the flood very often completely submerge the plant. My preference is to follow mother nature and not some people who sell watering bottles for profit or some air blower machine. Please take a look at my other videos showing my healthy beautiful succulents that are watered on top. Thanks for watching.

    Depende sa how dry the soil is. Pag basa ang soil, no need to water until it dries up or it will have a higher chance of rotting.

    What is soil wetter?

  • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK

    @GrowingSucculentswithLizK

    3 жыл бұрын

    A soil wetter increases the wettability of hard to wet soils, allowing deeper penetration of water into the root zone, promotes the development of good soil structure and increases water holding capacity.
