We have 3 Euroleague, 3 Women Volleyball Champion's League and several lesser European cups; including back to back Euroleague with Efes Pilsen, Volleyball Champion's League with Vakıfbank, CEV Cup with Eczacıbaşı and FIBA Europe Cup with Bahçeşehir just this year. Not counting Frutti Bursa and Women Fenerbahçe playing in the finals and Aydın Büyükşehir Belediye's semi final in Challenge Cup. Our teams fucking rule Europe in volleyball and basketball. Can your country even dream of winning a cup in any of these competitions?

O think the second of all time...panathinaikos 2009 was something unique ans special...take all look to the roster

This is a legendary 4 year performance by Ataman.

They played 3 final games in a row , 2 times champions , 5 final four in row , and you ask whether their coach lucky or genius ? You know the answer...

We are talking about a performance of teams being coached over 60 games in total with their national games. Efes, over the last 3 years, clearly demonstrated their game intelligence supported with outstanding stats. Particularly this year, efes climbed up the stairs from such a bad place, showing their character. The last game and the last 2 minutes; what struck me is that despite Efes still had 3 time out while Real consumed all, Ergin did not use the rest 3 time outs, clearly feeling Real’s Down syndrome of scoring and worn out conviction mode. This is indeed a gut feeling as well as coaching technique feeling what cooks on the field. Ergin gives an incredible space to each player’s decision taking and feeling. Currently many coaches restrict this space and fill with their conceptual techniques. We should never forget basketball is a genius game when surfed with the power of NOW, by players who drop their egos and UNITED as ONE. Neither Barcelona nor Real have this understanding…

Ataman requested winners and found them.All cubes were agreed when Micic came to Efes.Larkin and Micic are the best tandem in in Europe.Bryant is a great player, Anderson, Simon, Rody, Tibor, Moerman, Dunston, Singleton and others guys.Efes could have to win at least 3 titles in four years. One of the best teams I history of EL.

I agreed 👍 but one factor these talented players shine under coaching of Ataman , I like these kinds of coaching despite of Saris (he is never happy even if 11 point lead o f4 semifinal )

@@MrFrankello We can't see on paper analysis,and that analysis can be tricky.Dunston,Tibor Singleton was phenomenal in the final.Some don't see some stuff.Singleton defence rebound,Dunston also,Tibor with rebounds+points.Etc,etc. Micic and Larkin are the prroffesors of the basketball.Ataman is great couch. I am Partizan fan,so I watch my club hole my life.Soon we will be in fight for EL with Obradović.We know that.We don't have money like some top clubs,but we have everything else,tradition,history and young players.3 players on position 5 will be in top. Have a nice day mate!

They could do three trophies back to back if the 2020 season wasn't canceled since Efes was in a much better condition in that season than the last two seasons

Fortune favors brave and dont underestimate a heart of a champion

Efes players and Ataman took advantage of other teams' and coaches' fear, stupidity and weaknesses. For this Efes team who have never been at its best this year all along, some other factors had to intervene to get the cup. The referees helped the other teams against Efes but the opponents helped Efes to make everything easier. Both games could have gone either way but Ataman not being a control freak like Saras and having two really great players who are deadly weapons, perhaps the best duo of all times in EL, made Efes succeed. None of the players when they first came to Efes were stars. Ataman's way of playing them made them starts. When Vasa first came to Efes, he was a shooting guard playing number 2 with only a post-up skill. He became a true point guard under Ataman's guidance. Had they been under Saras's or some other coach's guidance, they would not have been the players they are today. Look what happened to S.Sanli. When he was an Efes player, his contribution was greater. With Saras, his impact on the game became so low in Barca. Efes''s management as a whole also plays a big role in their success. It is a first class organization who makes it so easy for the players to settle and live happily in Istanbul from day 1.

If Efes had one athletic 5 who can match Tavares and not letting Real have offensive rebounds final game would not be a close one.

We have dunston and pleiss. Dunston is just 2.02 and pleiss is very thin. So tavares dominated the rebounds in first half.

It's a great basketball lesson video that has been analyzed very well. From the coach to the players to the technical team of Efes, it is the success of all.

Ergin Ataman has been consistently succesful in different teams with very limited budgets and no one new much about Micic, Larkin, Sertac Sanlı, Singleton. He made them shine and blended them in a great system. Hope other Turkish teams join the bandwagon and invest more on basketball

Reaching the finals once may be explained by luck. If a team/coach reaches the finals two years in a row, and you attribute it just to luck, then you start forcing the boundaries of reason, logic, statistics and probability. However, if a team/coach reaches the finals 3/4 times within a period of six years, then you can no more talk about luck, there is no room for luck anymore. Such success is only possible when you do things right. Finally, Ataman won four different European cups with four different teams. I think only this fact tells a lot about him, his knowledge and abilities.

5 european cups with 3 different turkish clubs tells a lot. With all the nba players in the squad a medal at the euro 22 with Turkey in september wouldnt be a surprise also

When ever Dunston sinks a three, you can bet on Efes taking the game. I've been following Coach Ataman since he was an assistant coach in Efes, 30 years ago. His communication with players is different with each player. He also knows how to withdraw talent. If you still consider it's more of luck, I'll see you next year around the same time when we are commenting about Efes third title in a row. Astalavista baby😀

He is like a grandmaster of chess. Great coaching in semifinal and final games.

What Lucky!!! He is Genius ....

Without doubt one of the bests. Incuded:Maccabi Tel Aviv 2004-05, Csska Moscow 2007-08, Panathinaikos 2008-09, Barcelona 2009-10, Olympiakos 2012-13, Real Madrit 2017-18. Also we can recommend one team who had never won the title but it was very strong. Tau 2004-2008 era. Efes last 4 seasons with Ataman and the chemistry who builded with those players, achieved 👏 something remarkable in recent euroleague history.

It's hard to beat this guy with just the technical knowledge of basketball. It is as if he understands team building as well as provides the bonds between the players. He has invented a war machine like the Phalanx, in which it is imperative and possible at a certain time to trust your man next to you, and he is beating all that comes his way. This is the best until the Roman legion arrives.

Ataman is a great coach obviously.. might be the best among current coaches

4 seasons final in a row and 2 seasons championships can not be explained with luck. Barcelona has better players and budget Efes has Ergin Ataman

like all comentadors, you are missing the most important point. throughout the last 2 season, efes games are the target macth up for every team. every coach has tried to have a working plan to stop efes. some succeeded some not. however even they stop efes, they had a big problem.to stop a efes you need to change all of your team plan. it is like playing a different sport for them. this is very important, bcuz they lose their offensive rythm in order to stop efes in the defensive end. that is why milano, oly and madrid kept missing open shots when it is most important. how can you blame them, all your focus is slow larkin n micic, even in the offense you are trying to tire them. you could detect being out focus is effecting coaches too. bartzokas and laso couldnot call the faul decision at the last minutes. bcuz they were afraid to attack with their out of rythm offence and tried to defend which they supossebly perfected all game long.

For those who calls it luck! Ataman has an answer for you in the first 5 seconds of this video. :D

I remember Örs as a coach he would come and watch youth basketball pretty often. With all the coaches who liked to control their teams to the second Örs always advised coaches to let youngsters fee. he was the only supporter of a little iso vall ı have ever see in my life. Plus the man knew how to set up zone defence.

Ataman was his assistant in the late 90s at Efes, people who claim Ataman know nothing about tactics simply don’t follow Efes and only watch them playing occasionally, if people think he won this game by pure luck they simply know nothing about Atamans style of play. Aydin Örs would be the first to say how proud he is of Ataman, because his philosophy is behind the success.

Clearly the best team, no question. Plus Ataman is the best coach as well. He beat Pesic, Obradovic (2), Itoudis, Laso (2), Jasikevicius, Messina and Bartzokas since 2019 and Efes was 24-4 (11-2 at home, 13-2 on the road, even two extra road games!) in 2020. Threepeat in my book, I don't care what anyone says. Most dominant team ever in the modern era, and it happens in THIS specific era where it's more competitive and professional than it's ever been. Not that amateuristic organization in 2004-05 or to a lesser degree in 2012-13. Plus this success came in a full fledged league where everybody plays each other.

Luck follows the hardworking teams. One cannot play 3 finals and 2 titles in 4 years ( one cancelled due to Covid) just by luck.

I hope they have an exhibition game with a NBA teams in the future 🙏🙏🙏

When Efes does this after this kind of regular season without their most important bench players you have to fear them. Especially when Clyburn, who OS arguably the best small forward an the a dominant player in the league.

Real was unable to close the game, or at least to take a significative lead, when they could have done it. Up 40-31 and then 40-33 they miss some important shot, as you showed in the video, allowing Efes to stay alive. I don’t understand why they didn’t plan to use Randolph in the second half, was he injured or tired or something? Because he was basically the only one to make buckets from three for Real in the first half

I'm sorry but this year they ware lucky... yes an amazing team for the last 3 years but this time was lucky. Not at the top 3 or 4 of regular season, and at the final 4 when the other 2 teams throw bricks when they have OPEN shots (much below regular stats) and you just win by a shot or a point then you re very lucky... i repeat just THIS season, NOT the past years that they dominate... i cant image if barcelona was in final...

Ataman first won with Galatasaray the Eurocup and than with Efes 3 times in row the Euroleague. It was 2 but if there was no pandemic, it would have been 3 for sure. He is the best coach in Europe right now. Making a video, with the question luck or not is a fking joke and dissrespectful.

Real Madrid carried its "subpar" players to the final, and they fell short: Yabusele, Randalf, Rudy, Abalde, Heurtel, Taylor and Hanga. Some of them are already gone, more to go.

A bit of luck, a bit of other teams not doing as expected helped Efes win the cup but I am sure they are going to be a deadly team next year. I expect them to get a big man against the likes of M.Fal and Tavares around the rim, I expect them to get a replacement for Moerman with Randoplh(rumors), Clyburn already done with,.. If Vasa leaves for NBA, Satoransky is being talked about as replacement...

@@truthhearer6323 any cska with decolo, either the teodosics ones or the more top heavy chacho, higgins clyburn etc (i rate the 2nd as better) would have been better than Efes 2021 or 2022 ( specially given this was the worse Efes). Fenerbahce in 2016, 2017 with Bogdanovic, Udoh, Dixon; the 2018 squad, even the 2019 one (Vesely injury was critical to the F4 game) was also equal or better than Efes. RM? Many stacked and dominant teams too, 2015 one in particular. Prime Span and Printezis Olympiakos, another tough team for Efes, their defense and competitiveness being the trademarks.

Instead of I am super happy to Efes won the title, I hate Ataman. He can be a good coach, but not a good man. He is like a teenager. And I am so sorry that he is assigned to be the Turkish National team coach. He should've been fired. Efes can find better coaches easily.

Emredersiniz Selcuk bey. Hemen Aziz bey'in talimatıyla fb li bir koç getirelim milli takımın başına. Abi bırakın ya bok atmayı. Adam iddia koyuyor ve koyduğu iddiayı çatır çatır alıyor. Elinizdeki son oyuncak olan basketbolu da aldı diye kötülemeyin her yerde. Kıskanmayın, takdir edin geçin gidin o kadar. Milli takımla da başarılı olur inşallah. 20 senede bir ancak gümüş alıyoruz o da evimizdeki organizasyonlarda gaza gelerek yapıyoruz. Hem kulüp takımı hem milli takım çalıştıramaz diye fb lobisi ve aziz efendi milli takımdan göndertti. Sonuç? heba olan koca bir 5-6 yıl oldu. Daha geçen 2-3 ay önce Yunanistan'dan 50 sayı dayak yedik. Hiç mi utanmadınız o 50 sayı olayında? Tanjevic hem fb hem de milli takımı çalıştırınca iyi güzel ama Ergin hoca gelince eeee olmaz öyle şey. Niye? Galatasaraylı çünkü. Evet Fenerbahçeli'yim ama hem Efes'in şampiyonluklarına hem de GS'nin UEFA kupasınına sizden çok sevindiğime eminim. Komik duruma düşüp düşmemem de sizi bağlamaz. Fenerbahçe - Galatasaray maçlarını Galatasaraylı arkadaşlarımla tribünde yan yana seyretmeyi hayal eden biriyim ama sizin ve Ataman gibi insanların yüzünden (sizin gibi insanlardan Fenerbahçede de var) bu hayalim hayal olarak kalacak. Ataman konusuna gelince; şampiyonluklar kazanmış bir koç olabilir ama benim gözümde hiç bir değeri yok. Bunun GS li olmasıyla ilgisi de yok. Örneğin Fatih Terim milli takıma gelse itiraz etmem. Asıl sorun, adamın karakter sorunları var. Seyirciyle girdiği saçma sapan diyalogları unutmadık. Daha bu yıl barca seyircisine yaptığı hareket var. Onun olmadığı maçlarda takımın daha iyi olduğu dönem var bu yıl. Federasyon başkanının zamanında maddi-manevi destek istemiş, NBA'den yasaklı bir madde kullandığı için ceza almış biri olduğu sürece basketbolda milli takım düzeyinde bir başarı beklemiyorum. Ülkemizde koyu Fenerbahçeli olmasına rağmen gözü fanatizm ve nefretle kör olmamış bir çok güzel ve nitelikli insan var. Hak edene hakkını teslim eden ve adil yorumlar yapıyorlar. Bir Türk olarak da Avrupa'da başarılı olan hangi takımımız olursa onunla gururlanıyorlar (olması gerektiği gibi). Ama maalesef ülkede gözü dönmüş başka bir grup insan daha var ki Ergin Ataman'a olan nefretlerinden diğer milletlerin takımlarını tutup keşke Yunan (Olimpiakos) yenseydi diyorlar. Adam aksine oy kullansa kendileri belki gidemicekti playoffa , ayrıca efesin şampiyon olma ihtimali fenerden daha yüksekti adamlar neden kendilerini baltalayıp fenerin önünü açsın ? Biliyorum alıştınız aziz yıldırım döneminde her takımın fenere parayla çalışmasınada o kadar da değil, milli bakış derken ? Efes Türk takımı değilmi ?

Efes i have to say played bad against oly.Just threes/They were so lucky that bryant hit 4/4 and vezenkov wasn't feeling it.But life is unfair.

Too many injuries of Armani Milano. At that point they were lucky. Nothing else. My full squad Milano would have destroyed Olympiakos and Madrid easily.

last season efes got the title relied on larkin, micic, beaubois, simon, sertac. sertac is gone to barca. simon was injured and didnt play at all. beaubois had injury didnt do anything in playoffs and f4. you dont see ataman crying about it. he finds ways to win games without them. however we see milano bitching about thier injures even after season ends.

Yup. Messina constantly cried about it. This is the only difference. And we saw the result when Melli played in game 1. So dont dare to count him.

Olympiakos should have won it. Big shoot by Micic but our offense was stack and the ball just would not go in! About Laso mistake: such a big coach but what a foolish mistake. 44seconds and they manage not to have the last shoot. 17 seconds and they did not foul. What can you say. Such a pity because also for them the 3 pointer could not just go in! Efes is defently the best team the last previous years but not this one

I agreed but one factor that Efes just 6 player rotations, Simon ,Rodrigo, Moorman, offcource every team needs some good lucks:)

No team has the right to be called "should have won the game" unless they had played far superior basketball and won the game. Oly lost the game and deserved to have lost it because they were no better than Efes and because Efes won it. Efes won the game playing an average game like that of Oly. The game could have gone either way. As for the final game, Laso had a momentary lapse of reason I suppose by not choosing to foul. Probably he thought they were in front by one point. I cannot think of another reason. It is of course such a stupidity. They could still have lost the game in the end but they would at least have had a chance to take their destiny into their hands.

Not lucky. expensive. pay millions get the best players and you may win without playing sometimes. This year Efes sucked played crap basketball all season , in the F4 they played isolation hero ball give the ball to Larkin ir Micic for the hail mary 3. In the semis they did literally zero plays. They played like this all season. They were only lucky in the playoffs they got Milano who was crippled by injuries had lost their best two players. And next year they keep spending millions they are trying to get Clybern and a couple of expensive NBAers. The story of Efes will be the same with Fener. Spend hundreds of millions build zero Turkish core win a few years and then when the money runs out collapse. This happened to Turkish teams in the 90s , it happened to Fener again it will happen to Efes. If Turks want to compete on high level on the longrun they need to start producing players instead of buying the best foreign players. Unless youre Real or Barca with unlimited funding from the football department , this model is not longterm survivable.

efes build young players more than many european countries. the problem is young turkish players goes to nba too early in their carier. in the last 20 years you can name 10 nba players from efes. hedo, mehmet okur, mirsad turkcan, omer asık, ersan ilyasova, semih erden, cedi osman, furkan korkmaz etc. you can just match the money nba pays them. there is nothing to do about it. even furkan korkmaz gets 5 million dollars a year from philadelphia, how can you keep them in europe.

what are you talking about? before coming to efes, micic and larkin were nobodies, if you compare them to their state now. And what other stars do they have besides them?! i Of course, after the initial success who have to pay them because they will leave for teams with bigger budgets (barca, cska). i am not saying that it is a cheap team now, but the bigger reason for their titles is the smart teambuilding from ataman.

Greeks always forget the nineties where they spent big money and relied on foreign players and coaches, while Turkey played with homegrown players and coaches. Also in the 2000's you spent a ton. If it works for you you're quiet, if it doesn't and you don't have money other teams buy success. :)) Efes had the 5th budget this year according to Basketnews by the way. Hundreds of millions? You think this is the NBA? =D

Efes had Sertac Sanli who played a big part of their championship run last year and Efes dominating EL since 4 years you still talking about long term ? Do u expect them to dominate 10 years nonstop ?

Genius but ZERO character BAD personality. He gave his players dopings before turkish championship years ago it was same club he was coaching. 2 players were positive on doping test and efes refused to send other players to doping test.turkish federation covered it up.years later 1 of the players kerem gonlum state stated the coach ataman gave them so m e special tea from Germany which contains doping

Ataman had started to exercise the menthal of his coaching strategy with galatasaray in eurocup which was ; very good guard shooters, shot very well with sf and pf if possible, and at least 1 good long shooter, trust your pg and sg give them unlimited chance... That makes his team extraordinary dangerous behind 3 point line... 2nd ; find the key players who is hungry and always ready for achivment.... So last 7 years was perfect for him... And at last what makes him a unique coach is " for 2022 - 2023 euroleauge seasson all teams are prepairing their squad for untieing anadolu efes's attack strategy or trying to catch the same performance..."

actually, efes was very lucky that olympiacos had no final four experience from Key players like vezenkov, dorsey and walkup. efes was lucky at some shots like the three point of dunston. end of discussion. Olympiacos played better as a team and the next season he will be even stronger. see you in one year from now.

Haha, more like you were lucky that the Russian teams got excluded. You beat Monaco, that wouldn't even be in the playoffs with Russian teams, with all the trouble of the world, just because of homecourt advantage. Plus you practically played at home in the F4.
