Best video I’ve seen while looking for how to use the oil sticks, finally motivated me to try mine. Most videos involve encaustic art, I’m an oil painter, so I just wanted a simple visual. Thank you.

Amazing. However it's not clear to me how he realised it. I understand it's a sort of mono print but don't get how he passed from the sketch on plastic to the paint on canvas. someone can help?

it is sketched in the oil bar which is quite sticky as it is solid oil paint and melts in the hand, then he presses the plastic layer onto the canvas, peels it back and the impression of the oil bar paint is left on the canvas to fill.

...an artist at work... so far, so good... the issue (with this and many other videos) is that the camera work is so sophisticated, the editing so masterfully done, that one barely realizes that the actual work isn't plainly presented; instead, there are innumerable close shots (with movement) of textures, from different angles, etc... ...There are much, much better videos about the use of oil sticks, compared to which this one looks like a self-promoting project. ...The work is ok, pretty modest, actually... The movie is far better than the work... Kudos, Tyler and Carmen...
