Those are amazing facts, but you forgot about the interest rates. In India, we pay interest at 8% or more for Housing Loans and that fluctuates (floating rate) according to the market and other factors. In USA you get Fixed interest loans that too 6.6% to 7.5% depending on the term. So overall financing home in India is expensive than the USA.

In India, you can also get the loan with a duration of 28-30 years. I bought my 1st house with 28 years of duration in Bangalore. And there you have to pay initial amount of 20% in sbi and 15% in HDFC and other banks

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. If you lose your job, you have 60 days to figure out whether to search for another job or sell all this stuff you bought on loan. If buying house on loan, try to put 20% down for 30 year fixed. Anything else, try to buy with cash.

Concepts are same with EMI and Credit Cards, not sure on the interest rates though. Difference seems to be the approach and perception about loans, job stability etc.

We do get 10 yrs loan too of course payment is higher.We did that here for our house in New York took in 2014 and we are finishing it year end

But do you think that having a big house in some far away boring suburb is better than having a small apartment in a big city like new york or chicago. Personality i prefer fun filled city life . What will a big house give if there is no where to go to. No fun no entertainment no social life.

Good Information. But in India generally independent houses or villas would cost more than flats in apartment. Maximum people in cities go for apartments only as they can plan to manage the Housing Loan EMI than monthly rent. Different banks offer different interests. So it all depends on personal choice. Ab humko jo bhi khareedni hoti hai hum loan lene ki jagah utne paise har month bank me save karte rehte hain jab samaan khareedane ke liye ammount ho jata hai to hum sidha down payment karke chij khareed lete hain. Isse humko loan intrest dene ki jarurat nahi rehti na hi installment pay karne ka tention rehta hai. Baki sabki apni soch hai but mujhe meri wife ne saving karna seekha diya. Guys please fact check before you provide information abt India. We also have loan tenure to 30 35 yrs. Interest calculation is same, just the interest rate will differ. Maybe your brother is smarter to pay off loan earlier to save on interest. Which can be used to make another property. We also have cellphones on no cost emi (zero interest). Similarly we can also convert our purchases on credit cards to emi's after purchase if we decided to do so. The US credit culture which is extremely High as you mentioned, only brought recession in 2008. I enjoy your videos good information abt US and fun videos abt buddy teddy but please avoid comparison where you have incomplete knowledge about India.
