Gotta appreciate the ingenuity and simplicity, not to mention the hard working men.
I'm always impressed by the work in these videos and alarmed by the safety sandals.

Steel-toed boots are for the weak and zero common sense people who will sue the company when they drop something on their foot.
As someone who is not formally trained but does a lot of metal work I am amazed at how simple but effective these techniques are. I'm low tech so some of these low tech approaches have helped me save money and time.
@LygerTheCLaw

it may look low tech but it's not. the hydraulic presses cost more than a car, even used and in that beat up condition. theres several presses, a conveyor tank, and a large lathe. none of which would be cheap if you went out and tried to find something in working order. low tech would be forming these with simple tools like hammers and stationary bending bars and manual forming tools which would make a simple 15 minute job turn into an all day one with less than stellar results. i mean, honestly even though it looks like a dump environment, i wish i had some of those tools.
“And this is the machine that goes CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG………”. Totally blown away by the end product! Really impressed, but huge concern for the employees!

The person who sells them with a certificate in Europe will earn the most from these bent pipes.

Yeah, they probably get about $1 for each piece. A 3" iron elbow goes for about $35, $55 for stainless steel, here in the US.
Skilled hands, assorted tools and bloody great hydraulic press.

Dude, there’s about 1000 safety issues in this video, if you want to point them out. Not really the point of the video. It’s more of a “makes a living with what’s available, and still be productive”. Also, I agree not grinding on his cutting wheel, not a pretty explosion.

Who said there’s no issue? You keeping tabs on their non-existent accident records? Take a look at some pics of people after a wheel explodes, and then tell me “you” would do it. They are just very comfortable with risk, the way I used to be before my buddy had a real close call to losing his eye/face. I wasn’t criticizing the man making his living, I just said I wouldn’t do it. It was actually a positive comment toward the video, so whatever…negative Nancy

Tech is really only used to make it cheaper, safer and have a better profit. What is interesting to me is he is able to make a living producing these so inefficiently, in America we wouldn't survive doing that. That is where we need larger scale and a more efficient process (Aka we need tech) to help us make a good enough wage to make it worth it. This is why you would never see a process like this used in America.
This is what we would have if it were not for a few of great workers, standing up for concerns. Stand up people, we could return to this type thinking.
@jakerazmataz852

The thinking is genius. They are working with what they have. Imagine if they had a couple new $1000 machines. It would be life changing. You are correct though. I'm afraid what Biden has done will take more than 4 years to fix, if it can be fixed. We are this [ ] close to a market crash. Then only world war could get us out of it, like it did in 2, or it will end us.

Safety isn't free. Neither is factory floors you can eat off of. People in Second and Third World countries only require products that are good enough and fit for purpose at the very least expense. They are not going to pay for better dimensional consistency they don't need. And in particular they aren't going to pay for all the hidden costs of the insurance and gubbermint regulations that encumber western products. And so there are two tiers of product quality and pricing. This will remain until the Second and Third World countries develop their economies to include western style insurance and safety/environmental regulations.

John, can you tell me, what do these get used on ?
@johnhorton1516
6 ай бұрын
I mainly use them to fabricate tubular handrails, the elbows are manufactured to match the diameter of standard tube sizes. You weld each end of the chamfered elbow to a straight length of tube, the weld is then polished/ground back to make the handrail look like a seamless and continuous piece of tube, which would otherwise be almost impossible to fabricate. These elbows are also made in stainless steel. @@dallasarnold8615
