The best thing a woman can do in a relationship where she’s not getting what she wants is to walk away. No matter how bad or how much it hurts, walk away. It’s hard to take the first step, and your mind will try to find reasons to go back; but you must find the courage to leave and stay gone.

I didn’t ask the right questions, I ignored the signs, etc. Also facing the lack of self love I have. It hurts & I find myself angry at the inequalities & biases women face, and it’s even more hurtful when there feels like a lack of love from black men. I am working through the emotional abuse I experience. I also make a conscious effort to have a deeper relationship with God. My elders always told me to put no man before God. I got to a place where everyone let me down, and I realized God covered me this whole time. To re-define myself in how God sees me. The bottom line: "Don't blame a clown for being a clown. Ask yourself why do you keep going to the circus." People go to Vegas thinking: "I'm gonna BREAK Vegas", not knowing the game is "rigged" already for them to lose. Same situation with relationships. Love yourself, get your OWN everything; and you won't "need" any man.

I was in an abusive marriage where I was cheated on, lied on, lied to, gaslighted, called every name in the book, my jaw almost broken ....I was the spiritual, physical, emotional walking wounded. To the point I almost slit my wrists one lonely dark midnight. But GOD. That was over 20 years ago. Since then, I've learned to forgive my ex-husband, but more importantly, I was able to forgive myself. I've written over 8 books, something I always wanted to do since I was a little girl, but didn't have the guts. How did I do it? First, Jesus reminded me Whose I was: His child. He then guided me how to simply invest in me. God bless all you wonderful children of GOD!💕💕💕

@@elizabethking-kimble7883 Elizabeth, the best advice I could give you, is not to ask "Why?!?" Why is a word, an attitude, that hold us back, paralyzes us from moving on and upward. It keeps you a victim. When I kept crying to the Lord "Why me? Why did You allow this to happen? Why???" He lovingly spoke in my spirit "Sandra, you are asking the wrong question." Baffled, I asked "Then what question should I ask?" He answered "What now?" Powerful, deep, and to the point. I had to figure out what I would do with what I learned and pay it forward. That was when I started writing. One of my books "Baggage Handlers: My road to letting go of life's painful luggage" was not only the book that sold the most copies from all my books, but the Lord helped me heal while I wrote it! I pray for you continued success in overcoming what Satan used for evil and God wants to use for your good. God bless you and stay strong!😇
