Problem solving is a big part of performance control - eliminating problems to get back to your performance standards - so it's not surprising that many root cause analyses and problem solving efforts are started and managed by a performance control meeting (aka daily meeting). It's important to feed progress and information from the problem solving team back into the PCS meeting, but that meeting shouldn't completely manage the root cause analysis.
By signing off each of the 6 steps of the problem solving model and reporting the RCA team's progress to share and validate assumptions and conclusions.
