I love Miele products especially the washing machine because they work, last long and economical on electricity bill. I am buying a house in the Netherlands come September. When I spotted the owner has a Miele washing machine and dryer, I asked if I can buy them with the house. I am glad she agreed.I am now paying for 2 Miele products in the house without even seeing them because am in Australia. I can do this because I trust the brand.

If you decide to buy MIELE , watch your utility bills !! you will be surprise. My Miele washing machine has been working for 20 years in Poland and it is in very good condition!!! no rust at all. She serving my doughtier now. .Since I had come to Canada I've been using other brands. This was big mistake. Miele is the best on a market, other junks washer can only work few year, may be 10 max. Finally I bought Miele and my utility doped $55 a month.Thank you Miele!

well, ofc Miele is the top brand on the washing machines market, but also other brands such as Siemens and Bosch are good as well! I personally use Siemens brand, and not only does it work great, but I have it for almost 15 years! no rust,no nothing, silent work too! I live in the Balkans, and here we can't buy siemens(no official distributor)! If I ever go to Germany,I'm gonna buy an another one brand new,no matter the price! Electrolux is also a very trustworthy brand!

I cannot comment on the W1 as it is not being sold in the USA. I took delivery of a W3048 on 3/31/17. On my second load, I mixed a pillow with a dog bed and two towels. Big loading balance mistake! The pillow kept the towels and bed from even distribution on the first spin cycle. My little warrior (perfectly leveled) started hopping around for a few seconds. Then stopped. Washer slowly rotated the load until balance achieved. Finished the spin cycle with some vibration, but not enough to move machine. Result: Very clean dog bed and towels! We own two English Bulldogs, George and Gracie. We now own a steel Miele bulldog. Built like a tank!

I have a dish washer Miele G615 SC. This model is been working over 25+ years now. Not a single drop of rust. Yes it looks a bit old, but as long as it gives me those squeaky clean dishes :) I Don't care :) I know, that if you get a washing machine and a dryer, you can put them on top of each other and the washing machine has a special place, where the drier pipe can go in and hence use less space. Genius!

We've owned Miele appliances for over 20 years now. While they have not been trouble free, I've been able to maintain them through their parts availability. We ran our 2nd washing machine about once day, everyday for 16 years before it became unrepairable. Then we went back to our 1st washing machine and it's still working but leaks every once in awhile between the drum and front door. hoping to be able to fix it, while looking for a new machine. Local retailers say it's been hard to get products. They expect about a 3-4 month delivery time, which I may not be willing to wait for. Too many options to choose from.

I wish the newer models, I can buy in Germany, would make it to the U.S. My biggest mistake was not to ship my decades-old washer but give it away for free. Had many washers while moving around Canada and the U.S., but when my current one dies that came with the house, I know what to buy. No tariff will prevent me from getting a real washer again.

After considering a number of other brands for our new tumble dryer, I became increasingly frustrated by the compromises involved with most of them regarding flimsy feeling door locks, inconvenient controls, having to pay extra for stainless steel drums or way too looong drying times. Finally I decided to pay a few hundred more Euros for a Miele which the shop assistant also said is more thoroughly tested for longer durability and that Miele has proven to be more reliable amongst their customers. Received it yesterday and couldn't be happier. The machine is beautifully made and designed. Everything works perfectly and it is obvious that it was made to be reliable, and with attention to detail and precise craftsmanship.

Worth spending a lot of money on a washer but not on a dryer or dishwasher. Washer driers are good for apartments with 2/3 people but useless for a family due overloading the drier.Don’t believe sales people as they generally only know what they are told to say about the product and are generally on a sales bonus. They usually have no technical background.

the next washer I get is going to be a Miele. I purchased another cheaper brand last year, it is a top loader which is the only kind I ever owned. But the difference is, the store only had a machine without an agitator. I never had an issue with washing machines in the past, in over 30 years of washing clothes, but this new model has completely destroyed my entire wardrobe, wearing them out very quickly, all my clothes. Its costing me a lot of money because of this. I have read online other people having issues with models that don't have an agitator, but it seems almost counter intuitive.

One has had two Bosch front loaders which lasted around 12 years each, then he decided enough was enough and bought a Miele. Time will tell how long the Miele will last. Both my Parents and myself have Miele washing machines and both are around 14 years old with no failures so far. Not surprising in my case since mine gets low use but my Parents' machine is used around 5 times a week on average.

I live in the US too, Wisconsin. We own a W4840 that we bought in 2008. It has 14,500 hours of operation on it. Yes, Miele's have an in operation hour meter. If you do the math our washer has been washing non-stop for 604 days. Another way to look at is that is has done 4 loads of laundry every day for the last 10 years (Assuming 1 hour wash cycles.) How many other brands could claim that sort of longevity in a residential washer? We are a family of 13 so this type of longevity is required to keep up with our family size.

dudelivestrong , Miele makes high end appliances. That's why you've never heard of them. They are very expensive in the USA and I don't think they have factories in the USA like Bosch does.

What's the advantage of a top loader? Seems very inconvenient when you could use that space for something else. Like putting a tumble dryer on top. Put it under a counter and have a tabletop. Or something. A front panel can't do much. Put the door there instead.

  • @spencerwilton5831

BroccoliQueefed top loaders are inefficient by nature. They use far more water, more power and more detergent. The damage clothes more and don't wash as well. They spin slower meaning longer drying times that again uses more energy. Europe abandoned them in the seventies. Only America still thinks a variation of the kind of machine their great, great grandmother would have used is still a good idea.

Just had a £1000 plus repair on my 2yr old twin dos machine. It dumps far too much detergent into the wash (set for less than 50% dose for my water hardness). Requires 2 or 4 high water level additional rinses to clear away the foam. Very wasteful on water and energy (and my time!); costly in detergent. Disappointed 😢

There's other important criteria than just how long the machine last when it comes to meassuring quality of something. How well it washes your clothes, for example. How energy efficient it is. How much noise it makes. The list goes on. Miele consistently get top ratings in comparisons and impartial tests all over the world, whereas Samsung usually ends up in the middle somewhere.

@@WreckedRectum Yes, I agree. Miele is incomparably better. The thing is, with Miele, you practically buy a machine for life, because they will last for a lifetime. When you buy it, it is up to date, but 8 years later it is not. That is why I decided to buy a Samsung washing machine for another place I also live in, knowing that it is not the same quality ( washes similarly - but the MIele is better). In 3 more years I will fork another $ 400 and get a Samsung or an Electrolux. The thing is price. And a Miele costs around 3 times the price of a Samsung or Electrolux for similar results.

All this "energy efficient" marketing blabla is BS. NOBODY uses that ONE program where the machine uses less energy and water because it takes 4+ hrs to finish and will not reach the set temperature! Ask people with an allergy for example. To put it short: No modern machine will save you alot of money. Using a machine 15-20 yrs is more eco than buying new one every 5-6 yrs, because 1/3 is making it, 1/3 is energy and 1/3 is detergent cost wise. However, you're free to choose. Personally, I like stuff that lasts a long time. Less waste, more repairable, and I think thats the right way to do it.

A friend of mine got a W1 & T1 in the sale together for about £2000 which to me is a huge amount of money. The washing machine is now clonking and making weird sounds and it's barely 6 months old. I have a Beko which is quieter, with a larger drum and I can do 4 quick washes within the time of 1 on the Miele, it was £350. And I actually think it looks better.

the clonking is a design issue that is being investigated, only affects the latest miele W1 range. and i have no idea where your getting the info for your 4 quick washes to 1, from, as both beko and miele have an express program, both 20 minutes long, and both wash 3kg at a time.

What's disgusting about it? He's talking about a historic context. Clothes washing used to be an extremely labor intensive process, almost exclusively done by women. As long as your entire day is needed just to sustain the barest necessities, emancipation is impossible. That's how our civilization progressed to its current state and Miele's contribution was more on the women's side. The rest ("more than any law") is just marketing. This video is essentially an infomercial, of course he's gonna act like Miele is a gift to humanity.
