How A Genioplasty with Dr. Morrissette Changed This Patient's Life!

This patient came To Dr. Morrissette in Ventura wanting to undergo a complete reconstructive jaw surgery. However, with Dr. Morrissette's guidance, she decided to get a sliding #Genioplasty instead!
In this surgery, Dr. Morrissette moved her chin forward nine millimeters without the use of an implant and placed a plate and screws in her chin, which will never be felt or need to be removed!
Listen in as she shares about her experience and her decision to go ahead with a genioplasty!

This woman is stil recessed. She should have gotten ahead with the ortogonatic surgery. More expensive and painful in the short term but her class 2 malloclusion would be fixed and her profile brought forward signficiantly.

Maybe her malocclusion isn't very prominent (as far as her teeth touching goes), but she looks like she most definitely has some form of mandibular hyperplasia as you can see that her bite is pretty slanted, as well as maybe issues related to her condyles (like condylar resorption) that could be causing her recession in the first place. You can see from a side view that she is still very recessed in a way that has nothing to do with her chin, her whole jaw is at a slant, this can't be fixed cosmetically, however, jaw surgery would fix her cosmetic issues related to recession that is bothering her in the first place.

Can you fix a "witches chin" type of problem? I've had 2 sliding genioplastys, 2nd was a revison bc the initial was a) too agressive, b) left a gap in my jawline that outlined the osteotomy cut. However, during the 2nd operation, the doctor reduced the genioplasty a bit, but instead of fixing the gap/cut, he filled the gap area with a small piece of silicone implant. Well, it only partially covers the gap. But also, I now have a flatness to my lower lip, slight paralysis, and added numbness, with a little bit of a witchess chin look. I'm wondering if all this can be fixed through another revision. I was going to live with it, but it's quite stressful. Could the silicone be causing the flatness to my lip bc it's sitting near a nerve? Thanks 🙏

oh doctor, you just robbed this girl of getting a surgery that could have changed her life, I really hope she comes back to this video and sees this comment and reconsiders doing DJS. You can't fix a malocclusion with a genioplasty alone or anything purely cosmetic. She could have underlying issues that are related to her bite that now won't be solved. Most patients get a genioplasty with Double Jaw surgery anyways so she should have just gone that route. The double jaw surgery would have fixed her cosmetic concerns due to her recessed chin and would have created more facial harmony along with the genioplasty. But I understand that cosmetic surgery is a big business and not always in the best interest of the patient themselves. Wish I could reach out to this girl personally as someone who had double jaw surgery + a genioplasty!

You seem to know a lot about this procedure. I'm confused about whether I need DJS and/ or genioplasty. Can you please share your surgeon's name? Thanks so much:)
