You may wonder how this family was voted over and over again by majority. Here is the fun fact, Majority of the country is Sinhala people. As the practice, We used to believe that our race is the best and proudest one in the whole world with the history of 2500. Yes! It is the virus that was placed inside the heads of people here by education along. Instead of taking experiences from the past and creating a better future, we used to live in the past complimenting own past. Instead of teaching equality between races, religions we influenced ourself to believe " We are the great one". That is the boiling point that was used by Rajapaksha family. The Rajapsksha family did nothing to this country. Rajapsksha family is the representation of majority of Sri Lankan. We did this to ourselves.

We still have people asking for the whereabouts of their families that went missing in the war. Still have people asking for their land back that has been illegally stolen by the Sri Lankan army. Still people asking for justice for their murdered loved ones. Remember Sunil? How he was pardoned even though he should have been killed for his crimes? I did not see any such outrage from the Sinhalese community. Even this past week, there was a vihara illegally attempted to be built on Tamil land. Fortunately, we protested and were able to stop it. But the Sinhalese deployed army members and Buddhists and attempted to block the area as it is built. And on top of that, a former minister even said that it would be built regardless of the court order. Yet, the majority still stay silent. So you can ask for a better future with your mouth, but you can only prove it with your actions.

This family who ruined the Sri Lanka economy should be tried and send to jail and confiscate all their assets.

Plenty of organic farms out there doing it well. Looks like leadership in Sri Lanka wasn't responsible in rolling the program out. In part to have an organic farming community, you need a strong composting program to help keep the soil fertile. Sounds like they may have done one without the other. You need time to generate the compost as well. You don't just take food scraps and instantly have useable compost.

The irony is that 1000 years there was a king in Sri lanka called Mahinda. He was described in Tamil and Singhalese records as a incompetent king. He was defeated by Raja Chola of the Chola empire. 1000 years later the next Mahinda Rajapaksa was the next incompetent leader. 😂

Sri-Lanka has experienced never-ending conflicts since gaining independence in 1948. Sri Lanka has a long record of state-sponsored violence and a culture of impunity. Every government since 1948 (except the first government of Ceylon) left office under an economic and/or political crisis! Corruption, incompetence, majoritarianism, nepotism and racism are the reasons for Sri-Lanka’s bankruptcy. Just over two years ago, the vast majority of Sinhalese voted for the Rajapaksa brothers despite knowing of their records of corruption and violence, when they were in power from 2005 to 2015. The Rajapaksa brothers were elected primarily because of Sinhala ethno-nationalism. In Sri-Lanka, elections are won on anti-Tamil and anti-Muslim propaganda! The Sinhalese would have allowed the Rajapaksa brothers to stay in power, if the economy had not collapsed! The IMF and Western countries should not give any money until the root cause of the problems are dealt with. These include endemic corruption, majoritarianism, nepotism and terrible governance.

I'm Sri Lankan and there are actually so many mistakes in this reporting 🤦🏻‍♂️ 0:24 that's not his residence that's the former parliament 0:28 the president actually never lived in the official presidential house and lived in his own home to cut costs 3:15 these numbers are wildly speculated with huge ranges that are tens of thousands of especially as this many bodies have never been found after all the surveying 4:40 this project was a part of a greater connectivity project but as the whole project wasn't completed the individual parts failed to generate any money 7:33 budget there were actually many more issues 8:20 this is highly questionable But rest is true
