How A Drunk Man Won The Olympic Marathon

Ойын-сауық

This is the story of the 1904 Men's Olympic Marathon held in St Louis. It was the slowest Marathon ever won in Olympic history - by half an hour. The Race organizers messed up a couple of things (some intentional) which resulted in a most obscure result. I tried to illustrate where all the runners were at what time on a map to make it easier understandable. That was a lot more work than I initially thought and hence this video came out about two weeks later than intended :D
Anyways, thank you for watching!

    I just came across and was like “oh it’s a smaller channel, only 187k subscribers yet”…but it’s actually 187 ?!?! And this is the quality you’re producing? It’s amazing, dude, wouldn’t be surprised if your channel gets BIG fast! Your stuff is hilarious, incredibly well animated, coherent AND has its own personality. I’d love to support you on Patreon if I wasn’t a broke student, but at least I can offer you some words of encouragement. So keep going buddy, you’ve got this! Can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

    That comment just made my day :D Thank you so much for the kind words! If you are at the bottom of the KZread pit it's very hard to get any sort of exposure. But I'll just keep on doing what I do and eventually I hope it'll pay off. Comments like this definitely keep me going (: So don't stress it about the Patreon, that's absolutely fine :D Have a great day!

    I know this is a bit of a broad question, but how did you learn to make videos like this? It's really well edited like a channel with millions of subscribers. How does one go about learning how to do... everything? And what were you upto before this channel; surely you didn't learn recently?

  • @howistoast

    @howistoast

    2 жыл бұрын

    I have been into editing for a couple of years now. I did freelance work for small businesses, bands, events, stuff like that, but never did anything on KZread myself (but always wanted to). The illustration part I literally learned about a month before I started my channel with a couple of tutorials (hence why it's also not that sophisticated). The rest in terms of storytelling, structure, jokes, pacing etc I sort of learned by watching channels that I like and taking a lot of notes to see what stuff works well and what doesnt. I know the answer is also quite broad, but hope it sort of answers your question :D
