How A Course in Miracles Transformed My Anxiety

A few years ago, I found myself drowning in a maze of relentless anxiety. First it was one or two thoughts that scared me, then it became a whirlwind of thoughts, spinning around and around, ruling my days and nights, stealing my sleep, my food and ruining my life.
By becoming aware of what was happening and choosing to transform each scary thought, I managed to heal my mind and regain my sense of inner peace.
In this video, I'm sharing the 2 things I did that were transformative in regaining control of my mind and feeling peaceful once again. The majority of the healing was due to this thought process:
- Oh hello terrifying thought.
- I forgive you.
- I forgive myself for dreaming you.
- You’re showing up from the depths of my ego mind to be brought to the light.
-What you're saying isn’t real, because the world isn’t real.
- I am not upset for the reason i think. It’s all a ruddy fabulous production to run away from the original guilt of thinking we separated from our Source, from Love, from God. But we didn’t separate. None of this is real, I can peek behind the veil and remember where i really am. I’m in God.
- Spirit please transform this thought into light and help me remember what and where i really am.
A Course In Miracles has the answers to transform any type of suffering in the world.

Something really useful with toxic thoughts is the "Work" of Byron Katie. It's also really empowering. Thanks for your message, 3 times today I "crossed" the course in miracles, seems it's time for me to read it 😉

Thank you for sharing your story of dedication to healing -- and you're absolutely right, once we hit a kind of "rock bottom" it's much easier to be committed to a "better way." For me, becoming a mother brought up all the guilt, pain, anger, fear, anxiety...which eventually led me to the Course. Also, I think we all want something fast and easy to take away our pain, but it's a practice and commitment to a new way of Being that creates real change.

So true. It’s that dedication & commitment that trains your mind isn’t it? And once the mind is trained, it’s much easier to apply the teachings. I feel you on the mother thing. I had a pit-of-my-stomach guilt feeling this morning and was able to minimise it quite quickly with forgiveness 😮‍💨

Inspiring and so helpful as my "dark night" winds down. It's been several months of pain and anxiety and, like you, the course has led me to more and more peace through forgiveness. Tons of forgiveness. It's the only way home. I'm glad I came across your channel.

Your comment (JackAndErnie) triggered an understanding that my brain can't absorb information and background music at the same time. Background music creates confusion in my brain. However, I wanted to know Frances's recipe enough to be patient with the confusion. Thank you both.

Thank you that was great. It seems my life's "theme" is to get over a scarcity mindset of not having enough and not being enough. Would you use the same process for that? I am reading the course at the moment and I am at about lesson 20 so still way to go, but I love it. I came from other nondualistic spiritual teachings so it all makes sense on a certain level even though the textbook confuses the bejesus out of my mind and frustrates it at some level, but I know that's probably its intention because the ego mind loves to be in control, but it isn't. So I kinda smirk and laugh it off.

  • @francesverbeek

    @francesverbeek

Thanks for your comment 🙏🏼 scarcity is symbolic of thinking we’re cut off from god / source - our inherent abundance. So by using this thought process - remembering who & where you really are, and none of this ever happened, that will heal it. As long as you connect to spirit first and give it all over to them, as they do the metaphysical part 😉 totally understand, the words are defo something for the ego to forgive haha! I’ve got a video where I explain the words that might be helpful. Once you understand the definition of the words, then it will make perfect sense if you have a non dual background 💗 laughing it off is an excellent tool!!
