"To be honest I don't know... I lost the man I love" I burst into tears when she said that, that's real love right there
We had a couple in our neighborhood that were intellectually disabled. They didn't marry because the woman's mother refused to give permission. They did live together and raised two smart kids. I was amazed at how resourceful they were when it came to taking care of their kids and making sure they got all they needed. It opened my mind to how we underestimate the abilities of people who are different than us.

When I was in High School I dated a guy who both of his parents were intellectually challenged. Mom had Downs syndrome and if I remember correctly, his dad had asburgers syndrome. Anyway, they were lovely parents and he was a great kid. No reason to ever oppose love. Not like this.

People with Aspergers aren't intellectually disabled by definition, it's no longer a legitimate diagnosis, but back when it was, it was defined as a form of autism where the person has an average or above average IQ and no language delay.

i think you mean a couple with Intellectual disabilities - - but why did the women's mother refuse permission for them to get married? Was it due to the Marriage penalty? Not saying I know where you all are located but that could be one of the factors
This is pure, true love, so lucky they found it. Some people never do.

I can't believe anyone has the audacity to say that they are not capable of love and shouldn't get married. Stupid society and their list of requirements that everyone has to fulfill in order to get accepted. STOP TELLING OTHERS THAT THEY CAN'T LOVE AND MARRY EACHOTHER because they don't suit your stereotypes

My brother has special needs unfortunately he’s also elliptic diagnosised MR and is non verbal so his quality of life differs,, BUT with that being said, HE CAN MANAGE TO DO OTHER THINGS!! He can dress himself help our mother with heavy things and use the bathroom unassisted...which is major to us!🤗Beyond my relationship with my brother, Ive dedicated my personal career to those with special needs, and I have had professionally encounters and found that those who have disabilities or Down syndrome are indeed MORE than capable of loving, companionships friendships etc. WE really could stand to learn a lot from their community! The level of compassion and understanding is like no other! We seldom get to find our soulmate and this woman found hers! This was a amazing and beautiful story of LOVE and HOPE I wish her peace in knowing that she was the very best wife and friend to her husband and one day they will be reunited. Thank you for posting this❤️😇

Thank you for taking that on as a career. I work in an administrative function for an agency that assists the developmentally disabled, and I can see it is hard work and requires patience and dedication. Since we are supported by taxpayers and donations, we can not afford to reward our staff financially as much as they deserve, but there is an intangible emotional reward that most people do not receive from their job.

@S C There are a lot of people that are much higher on the should-quietly-and-humanely-go-away list than the developmentally disabled.
This story made me cry. People with disabilities are still people. They live and love just like anyone else. I hope she finds a way to be happy again.
I cried for them. My son Daniel has Down's Syndrome and it is my hope that he will marry someday if he so wishes. The world is changing. People with Downs want the same things as anyone else.
L-o-v-e. I'm quite sure I can't even conceive the depth of love this wife had for her husband. Purest love born from the purest at heart. God bless this lovely widow.
This was so heartbroken but at the same time was so beautiful
So beautiful, may he rest in peace and may she continue to have the amazing soul she has.
I am so sorry for her and the family's loss. It is obvious how much they loved each other and how much she is hurting. I am thankful she shared this with us.
I was moved to tears listening to this beautiful story...
Wow I just seen a post on Facebook with another Down syndrome couple who’s been married for over 30 years
It's always hard to see a husband or wife lose their partner 😢
Love is love is love. That is a pure undiluted love that I hope to receive even once in my lifetime. Rest in peace Paul 🥺
Fantastic. It's a privilege to see happy people, thanks
I'm not crying...it's just allergies! 😭
What a wonderful love story.
I have an uncle whose downs and he’s such a loving person and I couldn’t imagine looking at him as less than human
Many able-body people will never know what true love really is.
Another adorable couple it brings tears to my eyes.if people out there say cruel things about people who have disabilities I will rip into these wicked people saying wicked things about those with disabilities.disabilities are close to home.Discrimination should never be tolerated
“Maybe their love is deeper” DUHHH!!!!!!
Absolutely Beautiful Story!!! My deepest condolences goes out to Kris. She and Paul found and demonstrated through the life they lived, a deep love and commitment to one another that many couples have sought for and never been able to find. Everyone should remember this fact; a disability does not equate to an inability. May God Bless, Encourage and Strengthen Kris during this loss in her life...🙏
This is so beautiful 😭😭😭😭 may God bless her heart 😟😟😟

We have no right to judge. These two made the best of their lives. They didn’t let a sickness or disease stop them from living their life the way they wanted. They enjoyed life and were perfectly capable of doing things how they wanted.
2:22 “People like us need to have a chance!” Beautiful love story!
This is heart breaking to watch😭
This is pure love....everyone is deserving of love and marrying their dream person. There is no doubt in my mind that their love ran deep with so much passion and joy. One day I hope I am lucky enough to experience love like this. Beautiful family, beautiful love and such a beautiful couple. My heart is with you🖤
I can't stop crying and I'm not even a crier
Oh my god! 😭😭😭😭 I love them. They had the best kind of love and in glad they we're able to share their lives together.
I’m gosh! I have happy tears, they were so blessed to have found each other and felt that once in a lifetime love. I’m so proud of their families supporting them.

What a BEAUTIFUL story. I'm so very sorry for your loss Mrs. DeForge. You will be in my thoughts and I sincerely hope you will be happy again after you have had some time.
What a beautiful story of Love...bless them both for having each other. This brought tears to my eyes, thank you for sharing.
I'm crying I'm so glad they found each other even if it was cut short.
Why should they not be able to love like any of us. Love is not just for certain ones. Love is for all of us and it comes in different stages of our lives. God is Love and we were all meant to have that Love in our lives. God Bless Us All
Thank you for this story. Beautiful and sad all at the same time, humanity needs to evolve alot quicker, for the sake of people like this. I hope she finds some peace, their love was ground-breaking for the world and will never be forgotten. Sending her big hugs. 🌸
I have nothing for her and family but LOVE ❤️... Thank you for sharing ❤️
What a Beautiful Couple. If I had a Love besides my kids & immediate Family like that Couple. I would have got Married long Ago. I Pray the Widowed wife enjoys life with all the Wonderful Memories they Shared. 🙏🏽

And the way she speaks about him😢....😭😭😭 Its kinda overwhelmingly beautiful!!... i really do hope she can be happy here on earth without him, untill the day god unites them again😢😭😭 Why youtube!!! Why u always do this to me!!!😭
Seriously how can we still view those with Down’s syndrome as less than?? These people’s love story is beautiful
This is an awesome story! The people who have Down syndrome love you more and unconditionally! They deserve to have a chance and live their lives! Beautiful story♥️
Their love is deep and pure, no yucky stuff in their hearts.
Thank u for sharing this story.
I am bawling. What a beautiful love story. My deepest condolences 🙏🏾❤
The last time I opened the dictionary to search up the definition of down syndrome, it gave me a list of disabilities but love wasn't one of them.
What a beautiful story ❤️ example of what real love
Wow...truly breathtaking...take notes EVERYBODY...this is true love. Bless them both!!😊👏👏👏
I really admire those two. What a beautiful love story to two very deserving people. ❤️
I think their love is so beautiful and pure. Much more committed than most of "us."
I cried in two when her sister said she was the best wife that any husband deserve to have.
The same thing she loves about her husband is exactly what I love about my husband of 34 years, he makes me laugh. I feel your pain Kris. I pray the pain of your loss eases over time.
This is a beautiful love! Whom ever said they were not capable of loving doesn't know what love is.
I remember this couple!!!! I LOVED them then, and LOVE them now, though he is gone. It is so great to see an update.
Awe bless her heart i could feel the love pour out from that woman as she spoke .
People with down syndrome definitely love deeper. My cousin who had down d m syndrome passed away a few years back. He loved everyone so deeply and he and had great kindness. I miss him. He taught me so much by just living life with joy and love.
They have feelings and deserve respect and deserve to be loved and happy just as much as anyone else I'm glad this couple had the chance to experience that love my prayers and heart go out to her for her loss
I didn't expect to have a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes by the end of this story....but there ya go. 😥 They we very lucky to have found their perfect love. We aren't all that fortunate. ❤
In tears 😢 about how beautiful this is... 💞💖🙏
This was special. Thanks for the share.
Bless her beautiful heart. I'm so glad I watched this. Love is love 💞💕💝
Thank u 4 sharing one of the most beautiful love stories!!! And now that I have cried my eyes out; my heart is filled with hope!!! ♥️ Thank u Kris & Paul 4 proving this tainted society wrong... I am moved to tears. Kris, thank you for sharing your beautiful love story with us. I send you my deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved husband Paul. I believe that when God calls you home, you will be with Paul again. God bless you always and may God help you during this time. Rest in Peace Paul. Lots of love from Ireland.
Incredibly touching
One of the greatest stories I’ve ever heard.❤️💙☺️🙌🏾
This is a amazing love story. Wouldn’t we all be as lucky to live a love this grand. He is smiling down on you until y’all meet again. All the best to this lovely lady
Love is so powerful!!! Thanks for sharing.
i have never felt the pure, uncut love like the love of my friends and family with down’s syndrome. the marriage counseling and classes are a great idea, simply because it’s very often for people with ds to get overwhelmed with emotion and that can make marriage hard. so when they have clear instruction on how to talk to each other and work things out, it paces the way for a happy, loving relationship for the rest of their lives. heartbreaking, but such a beautiful story.
Thank you for sharing your story Kris ❤️
I wish we could make viewing this video mandatory for anyone who ever thought they understood Down Syndrome. Anyone who ever assumed that being born with that condition meant living a life within a set of immovable boundaries. Turns out the only boundaries these amazing people can't get around are the ones we "normally functioning" humans cast in from of them. Folks like Kris and Paul teach us lessons in joy, happiness and love in their truest and purest forms. Sadly, though not complex, these lessons can only be learned by those capable of living in this world without the necessity of judging people, things and circumstances they don't know and can't understand.
Someone like that probably loves deeper than any of us. It’s pure and innocent it’s real ❤️
This is what you call a POWER COUPLE

God I cried so much watching this 😢 This shows that true love is unconditional 💘
A beautiful story of love. Just beautiful.
So beautiful. They definitely do deserve a chance. They are human just like everyone else and I bet they do love even more than we do. They were an adorable couple. ❤
