At least 45 people are dead and dozens more missing after a dam burst in south-western Kenya. The flash flood swept away houses and cars and came as large parts of the region have already been inundated by weeks of heavy rains.

Policy makers,hold meetings as technical people continue with rescue.After rescue those people will need,food, shelter, medication etc.

How should this work? You have to get information about the problems and than you can react. Like knowing how many people are missing, where, how long. Where it's started to flood, how many people needs shelter, food and medical aid and what is going on with infrastructure. To go "blind" into this would be a disaster

The funds were set aside in November. They alerted the whole nation that 1 billion will go to el nine preparedness. They did nothing to prepare. And they knew. And they simply took all the money. As usual. What's new? Typical Kenyan President.
The picture used for first frame is a thousand words. The girl standing by the muddy car looking hopeless. I salute the photographer. Now this flooding happens everywhere, leaders have to understand stand that nature will always take its cause therefore preventive measure have to be put in place in advance. So that the damage will be little to nothing.

Will someone please remind Ruto that he is the president and that disaster response allows him to circumvent protocols. If it wasn't for corruption, that clogged tunnel wouldn't have been clogged. Ruto is very corrupt and hides behind meetings instead of stepping up and providing emergency services.

Everything is Ruto is what causes this kinds of disasters. Weather forecast was talking of heavy rains,was no one thinking about uncloggimg the tunnel? They have a local government and even at very local level the wards etc. When people starts taking responsibility and stop pointing fingers,only then will people be safer.

It was not a dam....and the Chinese have built few dams in Kenya. It's amazing how people lack sympathy and show vitriol and animosity for people they consider not on their side. Just because a few countries chose to work with China because they offered a better deal than the west
