I've been dabbling for well over a decade. My main focus for a majority of the time was in BYOND (yes, that one). At one point I had >100 active players in my game, it felt wonderful. Was even making money. It's been a struggle for me since then to be able to just sit there and... do anything. The thought of making an entire game is daunting, so I end up staring at the engine (Godot, Unity, GameMaker...). Breaking up your thinking into 'well, we'll just shit out small projects to get a feel for it!' certainly is the way to progress either as a newbie or trying to jump your mental hurdles and do literally anything (ADHD). Great video. Commented to boost engagement.

Hey Man, thank u for your comment, first of all. AND just continue bit by bit. It sounds really cool what u have got there! But obviously don’t let me tell u what to do, u know what is right ;) but just as a tip… what u just mentioned sounds like a very cool project, and since when have cool big projects been easy… so stay at it :)

If it helps, even as a professional C# programmer, learning Unity for work was tough. I did 3 years of programming in Cegep which is the equivalent of college, then 3 years Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, then worked for a combined time of about 2 years in Programming. Then I got a job as a Game Dev in Unity. I had learned a bit of it during my Bachelor's Degree, so luckily it wasn't all new to me, but still was tough to get the hang of it. But if you keep at it, you get there.
