It sure is
Just did the same thing on the weekend; I picked up 4 dwarf snake plants that I don’t have space for in my big houseplant collection because they were on sale, I love snake plants, and I couldn’t decide between them! I was also recently was gifted 2 mini phals and a mini rose as well; getting new plants really helps to brighten up the dull, dragging weather of Canadian winters for plant lovers when we can’t garden outside at all.

@@PlantzNThings I will be planting them in a large outdoor pot in spring, but I’m not sure they’ll survive the next winters here. I’ve planted quite a few mini florist roses in the garden before and only once have I had success overwintering by totally insulating one planted in ground and protecting it with a bucket over top. I’m currently trying to overwinter some in a large pot, buried completely under mulch, but I don’t have high hopes. I find that I basically have to subtract a zone to estimate the conditions a plant in a pot will have to survive over the winter; plants should be hardy down to at least zone 4 or I find they don’t survive in an outdoor pot. The minis are far more tender than the large roses I have outside in my 2 rose gardens, and I suspect they’re probably only hardy down to zone 6 or 7 because my zone 5 winters are too much. Also the fact that they are bred for growing in a greenhouse makes them a lot less hardy than garden-bred roses. When I first planted my first rose garden in 2014, I planted a row of mini roses in front, but they all died over the winter despite being winterized the same as the big roses in the bed, and since then I’ve planted portulacas in the front rows of my rose gardens every spring. I would like buy some actual hardy mini garden roses this year instead of mini florist roses and redo that front border though; maybe a row of “The Fairy” miniature rose, a classic and well know mini that’s hardy to zone 5, I believe.
😍😍😍😍
My plumerias are waking up! In Tampa bay here…

Thats exciting!!! The seasons about to start!!!
Hi Bill, such a great haul! The "Common" plants are so underestimated now with all Rare ones. I love the regular plants so much! No shade to folks who enjoy the rarer plants!! Please keep us updated on their progress!!
I feel no houseplant collection is complete without a spider plant 🙂

lol.. that and pothos..lol
Thanks Bill, nice haul ! I really like aglaonema too! I’m thinking about starting a collection of them, just thinking though because I’m running out of room. I just ordered two mangave , they look like they may be fun to grow, I haven’t gotten them yet and I hope they don’t decide to ship them when we have sub zero temps. It would be my luck though. Good luck finding ID on the no name plants, sorry I can’t help you out. Happy growing! ❄️💚🙃

i love that you're going to give Mangave a try. many mangave are fairly cold tolerant so hopefully they will be just fine when they arrive.
It looks like a kentia palm to me.

I really hope so 😀
I must be feeling nostalgic. I am buying African Violets, a spider plant, and a dieffenbachia. My family always had those plants growing in their homes when I was a kid. Now with your hopes of buying a Mangave maybe dashed. I think you may have a false agave or a Manfreda maculata? I hope I am wrong for you. But as you mentioned it is difficult to name the variety when they are given the title of annual.

you could be right... time will tell... i'd be happy with a Manfreda.. after all it's one of the parents of a Mangave :)
I really like that Aglaonema ~the leaves are so colorful. I definitely water less in winter, in the summer though with a well draining soil I find they like good amount of water when outside in zone 4 in Minnesota. I love the Palms but they always struggle for me inside. I still try every Fall to nurse them through the winter but I just don’t know what I do, or don’t do, to get them through the house of hell 😅

what type of palm do you buy? the majesty palm is super popular as an outdoor patio palm... but they Hate being inside? perhaps try a different type. maybe a spindle palm or a Kentia palm.
