I was gifted a False Aralia last summer for my birthday and its over 4 ft tall. I currently have it in my large walk in shower with my Stag horn fern and rabbits foot fern. Some of my favorite plants ever!! Thanks for the video.

My friend got a new apartment which also has a skylight and she has a MCM theme. I took care of her pet while she was away and when she returned I had left a free standing clear shelf on her counter tope with 6 kitchy MCM toothpick holders using them as little stands for the different air plants to live on and a air plant care goody bag. She absolutely loved them! Toothpick holders from other eras of time have such humor to them or a streamline feel and you can pick them up sure cheap in second hand stores. Just a wacky tip lol.

Today, I bought a Gold Dust dracaena. It looked so cute in a tiny little pot. Lovely little green leaves with a sprinkling of yellow spots. It didn't have a name tag, but I didn't care. Now I discovered it is a small shrub. 😂😂. Oh well, it's is adorable 🎉

Fun video as usual. My thriller is a bushy syngonium, unlabeled but maybe batik. It's so full and the color is amazing. My filler is a Happy Bean Pepromia, 8 inches tall in a 2 inch pot. Looks like a little tree. My spiller is my red maranta with those purple under leaves. No real drama here but my diva is definitely my fiddle leaf with leaves turning every which way and brown spots that didn't kill the plant early on. LOL. My underdog is red stem pilia. So cute and dainty. I had fun grading my plants by these standards. Liked this challenge and wonder if it will change next time you do this. Thanks!

This was really fun to watch- thanks! My thrilleris my Philodendron florida green ; because it has reached my ceiling and is now growing towards my skylight ( probably plotting to escape) My filler is / are al my small succulents ( love them ) My spiller has to be my Hoya polyneura because it blooming right now ❤ The drama is the same as yours and for the same reason 😅 Diva is my Alocasia frydek - i keep it under a grow light but it still struggles And my underdog has to be my Cissus stratia ; i have never seen it in other videos but it such a prolific grower and has beautiful leaves- i got it from a friend as a small cutting - really a beautiful plant ! I missed seeing you when you took your break. Welcome back! Anthuriums are probably not for you (sadly so because they are beautiful plants). In past videos you’ve said there are two things you choose not to deal with: humidifiers and filtered water. That is a reasonable choice. You have so many beautiful plants that grow well for you without the hassle. Anthuriums like higher humidity but need filtered water (unless you’re lucky to have very soft water without chlorine). I can actually tell if I forgot to change my filter by the condition of my anthuriums. Straight tap water is slow poison for them. Loved the Hoya cyrtisii. It seems to be living its best life,

I saw someone grow some Anthurium in pretty low humidity, look up Plant Gay for Life here on KZread. I'm pretty sure he also uses filtered, maybe Distilled Water, but just a fun fact! Not all Anthurium need high humidity. :)

Very hard water will kill most house plants eventually unless you repot them frequently because of nutrient lockout due to high pH. Some tough outdoor plants like tomatoes are capable of changing the pH next to their root systems but most houseplants are not as capable.

  • @DominicSaggione

Hey Nick, have you tried the Anthurium Fingers in PON? I cut off all the roots and stuck it in some PON in a nursery pot then set it in a pot with no drainage, filled with water. I haven’t gotten a new leaf, but if you could see the massive thick roots I have no doubt I’m about to get a beautiful leaf. If I could do it again, I wouldn’t have cut off the roots. Im a big fan btw!

I didn't get into house plants until 2022(ish) so I (thankfully) missed out on all the COVID craziness. At the beginning I was trying out everything and anything. Now I know I am NOT a fan of (🚨trigger warning) philodendrons, alocasias, anthurium and most cacti (love the look hate the pain lol). I have however fallen head over heels for Hoyas and I can't even explain how or why.😊💚✌🏽

Man, I should really get a false Aralia again. Such an elegant plant! As for Anthuriums, you should never ever put them in a terracotta pot. They do best, in my opinion, in a self-watering pot or no drainage system. The channel plant gay for life explains well how that works.

I recently got into air plants. My assumption (based on the fact that they absorb moisture through their *leaves* ((are they even technically leaves?)) Is that the fuzzier the leaves the more light and water they need....I have no idea if that's right or not 😅
