HOUSE TOUR | Interior Designer's Manhattan Apartment and his CRAZY Art Collection
HOUSE TOUR: Interior Designer Brian McCarthy's Midtown Manhattan apartment is just as enchanting as he is. Filled with eclectic treasures from his travels around the world, it exudes a graceful and tailored elegance. He takes me on a tour of his fabulous apartment and shows off some of his prized art collection--including a Warhol!
McCarthy is the author of Luminous Interiors and trained under the master designer Albert Hadley before opening up his own firm in 1991. He works on projects all over the world. Enjoy!

Love your vids but please lower the music I can’t hear him talk about the apartment

Amen! So aggravating!
Oh no, this one was too short. How can you admire anything there in just 4 minutes. What a tease!
More! I wish we could have seen more of this truly fascinating apartment. So many odd treasures to behold. Just loved this short tour, I need to watch it a few times to fully appreciate all the details of your collection. Thank you so much for sharing.

I know! Same! I want to see the kitchen, office, bathroom, closet, every nook and cranny 😂😭
I love his taste! There is a lot in that smallish space but it is not overkill where one fills overwhelmed. I could happily watch a much longer, slower tour to absorb it all.
Only advanced interior designer would be able to pull eclectic look together. Just absolutely unique.

Yes. It looks so easy-just collect good stuff that you like! But if I did it, my room would look like a junk yard.

That’s the challenge and I think that’s why I’m drawn to this style.
I wish this video had been more about his fabulous apartment rather than the art. I understand his love for his art pieces, but that apartment!!!!!
It's a home with some very beautiful pieces 🏡 💕 it is not stage design as so many are. Interior design is meant to be personal and this certainly was. Thanks for letting us into your home.
I am loving your home tour series! The people you interview are so unique and I am inspired with the objects and designs that fascinate them. Wonderful job and I plan to watch every single one of your videos!
His living room IS the cocktail party, full of conversation among interesting misfits.
Unique decor. Not generic or predictable. Love it.
I love this channel. I just found it and subscribed! What I like the best about many of the homes you show is the lack of white and grey. I am so very very tired of seeing interiors that look like an operating room or that no one actually lives in.

Quintessence is another channel you'll love too! I also hate the bland no character NO ART no style of the grey white people
Wonderful vision! Wish I could have heard him better over the music. Thank you.
Love this but would love to see more of this amazing home. Such an artistic eye.
I really love the cocktail party analogy. I'll never have matching furniture sets again.
LOVE THIS... Quite CHARMING!!!
What it takes to pull off this “style” is #1: have good taste and the money to allow such taste, #2 be picky and don’t compromise. The key part is 2 because you have to spend lots of time browsing and saving your favorites then elimating a few to leave just one item that you like above the other thousands you saw. That is it.
I see I'm not the only one with a chair fetish...Love the little Red one! Very nice apartment.
Chic and beautiful apartment decor 👌👌👌
I just stumbled upon this channel and absolutely love these tours! You eclectic home is awesome. The penis painting and sign upon the fireplace are awesome. I love the nose statue and hinged bird. I,too, would have loved to see more! TFS.
This is an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC home... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ALL OF THE STUNNING WHIMSICAL TOUCHES!!! It's all FABULOUS...
That is so true... I am forever moving things around and my rooms are forever evolving. 🥰
What amazing style! Thank you so much for sharing this.
I wish this were longer. I love his eclectic style. And him. Thanks for sharing.
Sublime chic et confortable et sensuel à la fois MERCI depuis Paris.
I want to go to one of his cocktail parties. Probably fun as hell
What a great place! It takes a lot of skill to mix that much and still have a harmonious final result. Tons of good ideas to remember about art placement, furniture arrangement, use of color/texture/pattern, and lighting. I'd actually love to seeing a lighting plot of what is hard wired.
Wow loved the owl x
Now that is a man of great taste.
Loved the sculpture works in this space. Great taste.
omg love ALL his pieces!!!!! like a museum!
I have watched a couple of times. One of my favorites. Exquisite collection of art and beautiful home furnishings. Thank you for sharing. So enjoy Homeworthy!
I love everything about his home....it certainly speaks to the creative in each of us. ❤
Fabulous home
Cute space but should the Warhol live with cold & hot air constantly blowing up on it???

Yes, and also in front of a sunny window seems not a good place for art in paper.

Yes I said out loud that’s a terrible place for it!
I LOVE his collection!
Mr. McCarthy, I think yours is the most fabulous and satisfying apartment I’ve seen in all my looking and looking! I’m thunderstruck!. I’m euphoric! I’m in despair! Frankly, I really have no idea any longer what I am.
Beautiful apt🌳
Thankyou for sharing your spectacularly curated home with us all. 2:57 that good gentleman is I believe a Snuff box. Google Russian antique horn snuff box.
Lovely, thank you for sharing!
Great apartment!
Amazing tour 😍 The music was SO LOUD THOUGH
Your collection of art work is stunning !! Wow !!! And you own some great things !! Really enjoyed this !! Thank you
Great video! Thank you very much!👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful taste. I prefer eclectic styles nothing contrived. Thank you for sharing.
Wow!!!! BEAUTIFUL 😍
Hello from India. You have a classic taste , fascinating home full of quirky stuffs ..crocodiles are simply awesome..loved the mix. Your passion is visible , awesome collectables with a great sense of taste and decor. Thanks for the Tour.
I love this apartment, it would be a dream to live here!
A professional! Speechless
Beautiful!
Fabulous!
Love this place!
Beautiful ❤️. But the music..oh boy
Love it!
Really cool!!
Stunning😍
Wow i love this
Fabulous. I want to live there.
Very cool place. The places I love the best are the ones that are so very unique. A home has got to reflect the person who lives there.
Who puts a Warhol over the AC?!
Love the apt- next time lower music it took over him 👍🏽
Love your place !
I am an art addict too!
Wow 🤩
What no outsized clocks? No shiplap? No word art? No flip house gray and white?
i love his carpet
I agree: Save the pair of Lalanne tables...................great!
love
Hate the music love the video
Wonderful tour but the music is very distracting
Beautiful! Why the background 🎶????
The music is too loud and it’s hard to hear what he’s saying
very nice guy , but honestly , i think, in some way it didnt#t work out for me in terms of colours and proportions ...it made me slightly nervous, i mean, i love ecclectic style.. but its was not round for me .. but nevertheless... a great place at all !!
I would leave the road kill tables to the flames...Let them RIP. Apartment was great, he is lovely, the post production music is too loud and annoying.
Tone down the music please!!!!
Shame about the sound quality.
Omg the penis artwork! I literally belly laughed!
love the story about the penis painting! :)
The background music is distracting and makes it difficult to hear the person talking. I give up. Love the houses, but not the background noise.
These Russian owls were supposed to be used for drinks/drinking, it's not a container for rings - it's a wine glass.

I don't think so because the horn is going the wrong way. When you drink out of a horn, the point/tip should be down otherwise the drink will rush out onto your face.
@Unc3rtaintyPrinciple

@@BouncyBrown good point, these are probably primarily designed to be decorative; don't think they were designed to be functional with lids like these. in general more recent (aka post-medieval) drinking horns are not supposed to be convenient to use, they are mostly ceremonial. google 'drinking horns', there's a long history and all sorts of shapes and sizes. the tip of the horn depends on the region and time period rather than convenience.
Haha. The part when he said he only realized the big picture in the foyer is nothing but penises!
I like mix furniture, just not the killed cocodrile, animals are not fashion or furniture.

Hi Elena, I stopped the video at the crocodile tables. I looked closer and thought they looked like metal tables. Now I'm not sure, but I'm sure a lot of material in his home is from animals...that gorgeous chair in the bedroom is probably animal fur. You'd think people would do better today knowing what we know about the industry and the suffering of animals. Oh well.

You're both idiots.
Could hardly hear him talking
The music in this video is way to loud! It destroys the designers whole point because you can not hear what he is saying!
Too bad you can’t hear him talk over the loud music
Haha, the penis painting 😆 This decor is fab! Except for the crocodiles 🐊
Che brutto from Italy
On this side of the room is my gay white privilege.
Yeah, there's eclectic, and then there's just way too much. When your home looks like a museum of stuff- even expensive stuff- it doesn't look like a home.

It looks fabulous to me and nothing remotely museum-like.
Blah, it looks like every house of every designer or designer's clients. Nothing special about it.
Love it!
