I do that in my home and I love how when you look in different rooms and areas, there's always something cool to look at. I love the artwork on the floor! I like the stacking affect ... it looks comfortable and easy to enjoy!

One of the things that I absolutely love about Quintessence videos is that all the tours are comfortable. I watch these beautiful homes and think "ok...I can do that" and it gives me such inspiration to do the same to my little cottage. There's never any pretentiousness about anything and, instead, there's such a joy about the houses. Run out of space on the walls? That's ok...let's just put it on the floor. I love that. Thanks so much Susanna and Stacy. One again, you've made a start of a beautiful weekend for me.

Yes, that's exactly it. The common theme running through all these visits is that whatever you love will work just fine, and you should be bold and make your home what YOU want it to be, regardless of what other people might think (but probably won't). Home decor is always an adventure in self-expression, never a popularity contest.

I want to sip wine in every room of this house...I wish we could have seen more of the kitchen and adjacent sitting area. I'm a kitchen/sitting area hound! This is everything I dream a Connecticut home should be. So romantic. Having been born/raised and living in SoCal I just loved it.

An easy tip to remember - the empty space around an item or collection of items is as important to the look & feel of a room as the object itself. Some call this breathing space & you need it to feel comfortable in a room. Otherwise a space feels stuffy, constricted & suffocating.
