Hey Kristen! Plants need to be fertilized at least every (3) months and watered regularly, once a week for them to stay healthy. At that time you need to trim off all the dead leaves as that just drains the plant. I buy Miracle growing a box and mix one scoop of mixture to a gallon of water. Put my plants in the sink and water and fertilize them at the same time and they're beautiful! Hopefully this information will be helpful to you. Plants are time consuming, I can hear you saying. I don't have time for all that! LOL.... If you want your plants healthy it does take some time, but honestly once you get used to it, it goes fast! Enjoy your plants as they are beautiful! 🙏❤️🤗

Ebsom salts is natural and cheaper than miracle grow. I use table spoon in watering can pour in plant. For branches in galvanized pan, get a thick branch drill holes angled how you want them to be glue them in. You could leave them in there with small branch in bottom glue .

@@shirleywilhelm1495 Thank you! I've never used Epsom salt! I know my ferns will be 3x's larger in 3 months with Miracle Grow. I will give Epsom salt a try! Thanks again!!!! ❤️
Kristen, I was laughing so hard. Don't stress, my husband called my daughter's plants "fire hazards".😂 When you walked into the sunroom, I couldn't help but laugh. You keep trying and that's all that counts. I have a house full of fake plants because of our cats. Your house looks beautiful. You should be proud of yourself, you have 3 children. ❤
I have real plants all over my house. But, my kids are all adults now. I love how they make things look more cozy.
Oh your baby girl has grown up so much 🎉😊
Kristen your home is SO lovely. I used to have many plants in my home but I am down to 1 orchid that I have had for 2 years. I had a spider plant once for about 20 years and finally it bit the dust. After repotting it a couple times I couldn't get rid of the little mites flying around it. I may get a couple plants this spring. I absolutely LOVE the pillows you found! I always enjoy your honesty, authenticity and humor!! Can't wait for your next video!
I've given up on all but succulents and my mother-in-law tongues; they all do great for me. You really lucked out on the Windsor rocker, it is gorgeous! Praying for your family to all be better soon.🙏🏻
Those pillows…🥰😍! Years ago, when my children had hand, foot and mouth, I ended up getting it too! It was not fun 😩. Prayers for healing in your family.
The monstera’s would benefit from a moss pole. They’re a climbing plant, if you give it something to climb it will look more perky. I have two monstera deliciosa’s and they’re nice and perky with their poles!

And not in the window. Mine likes out of the window..
I LOVE real houseplants! I have always had MANY. The bigger the plant, the better. I have two fiddle leaf figs myself. One is about the same size as your fuller one, and it's about 4 feet . My big one is 9 feet tall and very full. It is getting too tall now for my 9ft ceiling, so the top branches are starting to lean over. It's a beautiful beast. I water most of my plants every week. There are certain ones that I only water every other week. I think having real plants adds so much to home decor and gives you that homey feeling and not to mention cleaning the homes air. I want to commend you on not having any brown crinkly spots on your fiddle leaf figs. I do on some of the leaves. Makes me think the plant is not getting enough water. I try to water them twice a week, but still, they get dried out, and if you read about these plants, they say not to water too much. I think I need to get even larger pots now as perhaps the roots may need more space. Any tips on how you are keeping your fiddles with no dry brown crispy spots? PS. I like the pencil stick plant.
Those Indian pillows are awesome. One of your best buys as they look great in both your light lounge and the tan one. You’ve got some lovely plants. My favourite are Peace plants as they wilt when they need a water.
Your home is a work of art! You have curated a flourishing, cozy space for your beautiful family and I'm so grateful you share it with us❤

I know nothing about plants but I did buy a few real ones and they are doing okay! I have realized fake is fine too! I just love your honesty and your beauty in yourself, your home, and your family. I wish you all the best and please keep thrifting! ❤
Those pillows are soooooo good!
Just plop those Monstera cuttings in a vase or pitcher and in a couple months you’ll have new plants. I just potted up a few for friends.
Praying for you mama!! We have been sick non stop since January in our household 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️you cannot make this stuff up. Feel better soon all of you!! ❤️
KZread is a great source for caring for individual types of plants. Your zz plant staged on your hutch and the euphorbia pencil sticks look the healthiest of your bunch. Your rocking chair is an amazing find!

Hope your littles get well soon and you don’t catch it! We just finished a round of pinkeye, ear infections and colds 🙃 I like your plant tour, both fake and real. I need more of both, I just don’t want more things to dust… plus I have 2 toddler boys, there’s no way I could just leave dried florals within reach and they make it through the day without being touched and crushed 😂😂
Kristen, I love plants. My husband says he lives in a jungle. I have many , many plants inside my house and on my front porch and back terrace. I live in Miami, FL and with the heat you have to make sure to water your plants. You have. to be consistent and you will be rewarded with a beautiful display. Fertilizing your plants is also needed.♡🌿♡
I love your plants. I have a few real plants, but am loving fake plants more and more.
Thanks for the plant tour Kristen! I hope sweet baby Ivy is feeling better! She is precious with her new dog Buddy.
Also, Dollar Tree sells plants watering bulbs and fertilizer sticks.
OBSESSED with those wool kilim pillows! 😍😍😍
I don't do indoor plants but I do outdoor It took me a while to learn about high desert plants I mostly plant perennials in my yard
With your first plant that you showed us in your kitchen, Kristen, I believe that bowl is a stoneware mixing bowl. Well... at least that is what we call it in our area. I have also heard of them referred to as stoneware dough bowls.
Hi Kristen! I'm almost twice your age and I have always loved plants!!!I too have live and faux plants!!!I love some green in every room!!Pothos are the easiest to take care of!!!!I "LOVE" your larger pothos in your hall or dining room and that antique, old fashioned plant stand is fabulous!!!!!!In the summer get some hanging plants that are heartier than ferns!!Ferns are very pretty but they need mostly shade and not hot direct sun!!!Ask in a nursery before purchasing a bunch of plants to hang that match!!!!VINCAS are beautiful, hang over the pots, and are hardy for full sun!!!They have to be checked for water every couple of days or so!They come in red ,pink,.Callabercoa is another one, floral, very pretty and come in all different, vibrant colors!!!!Ferns need shade ,they are very delicate even though us gals love the look of them!!!!You have a beautiful porch to decorate for summer!!!!!!Enjoy!!😁🐣💖🐇💖🐑💖🌼🦋🌷🐞🌿💖
Thank you for sharing. I used to not keep indoor plants because of my cat but you’ve inspired me to add some to my decor more. I absolutely love the pillows. Sorry about the sickness. Hope you are all well soon.
You have a God given eye for beauty. I love the gallery wall. Greetings from Singapore to Josh Hoffman, 'Serial Plant Killer'. 😂😂
She said look at this good looking stick lol! You're to funny!!!!
So sorry to hear. My great great niece just got over hand, foot and mouth disease. Poor babies having to go through something like that. I'm glad your babe is getting better, Kristen.
Any fake plant you put outside will fade in the sun. Prayers for total healing for all! 🤗
I have over 40 plants in my house, about ten of them are so big they sit on the floor. They are all real. I'd prefer no plants over fake plants. I can spot your fake plants, even before you identify them. So if the say fake on a video, imagine how they must look if one is actually in the room The joy of having plants is to watch them and nurture them, as they grow and your real plants add so much to your home. The Boston ferns that are dead...what happened? I bring all mine in from the porch and place them in various rooms in the house, over the winter. In the spring I move them all outside. There is a bit of browning inside, but not very much. You are not alone, Kristen, so many KZreadrs, who share their homes with us, should ditch the fake plants and put a bit of effort into having real plants. You are so authentic...how about authentic plants? Your grandmother's philodendron is lovely. Ask a garden centre to suggest plants for your sunny front porch. So many of your inside plants need to be split and repotted. Your one fiddle leaf fig is doing you proud. Best of luck in ditching the fake plants and enjoying the success of real ones.

Yep
The pillows are beautiful good find .
Love the pillows. ❤
I have a south facing front porch also and I switched from Boston Ferns to Kimberly Queen ferns that sit on the porch floor or small tables. Birds don’t build nests in them and you just cut them real short before your first frost and put them in your sunroom. You don’t have to water them much over the winter but they still need water. Maybe once every 10 days or so. I’ve overwintered mine for 2 winters before. I have a 7 ft fiddle leaf fig tree that I bought at Aldi (2 ft) and I keep it near a bright window in sunroom. Water it once a week
When you smile and laugh, I see Rosie's sweet little face.
Forgot to say congratulations on the rising number of subscribers , good for you .

I am an indoor plant killer too! Outdoor plants are my jam. House is lovely as always, and your bins are always killer. Our outlet is ridiculously picked over. Thought on plastic plants outside: since they get lots of sun, they’ll turn blue really fast. Ask me how I know. 😂

Oh my goodness, those pillows are awesome! What a find! The rocking chair is a reproduction, probably from the ‘60’s, check the bottom of the seat to see if there’s a name which can determine value, but nothing like an original Windsor rocker like you found online.

Oh, wow! Those kelim pillows are fantastic🙏💖 The plants...not so much😘😉😄
Kristen, the rocker is a huge score! Love it! Your home is lovely and just keep trying with the plants. I love succulents but cannot grow them. I don't know how many jade plants I've killed. I have a lemon tree that I started from seed! I also rescued a norfolk island pine and it is growing nicely. Prayers for quick healing with the girls.

You do have a lot of real plants. I actually like fake and real. I love your house. It is so homey, cozy and and warm.I look forward to your upcoming videos.
Those pillows are incredible!! They're in the Kilim fabric. I have a huge rug made this way. It gets tons of traffic along with the dogs always laying on it, but it's very sturdy.
A beautiful video, Kristen. I love your plants and your gorgeous new cushions. Thank you for sharing. Plants bring so much life to a home. l have numerous indoor plant's.

Puritan! You cracked me up! But you corrected yourself (purist.) I used to say that I had a black thumb because I killed everything. I determined that I would do better, and I have! One of the biggest things is not to overwater or underwater. I water my plants every Wednesday. That way, I don’t forget. Use the same vessel to water and use the same amount of water. A great way to feed your plants without buying expensive fertilizer is to throw your banana peels into a container, add water, and let them soak for a couple of days (don’t forget or it will begin to smell). When you trim your grandmother’s pothos (not pathos), keep the trimmings to root and replant. I keep a jar of water in my kitchen window just for that purpose. It can take weeks, but those stems will grow roots. Praying that everyone is better very soon and against anymore sickness! Blessings!❤
Do you have a faucet in the front that you could run drippers to your plants? There are so many plants that love heat, but need water to survive. Those ferns will probably come back if you clean it up, maybe repot and fertilize it.😊❤

I mostly keep peace lilies. They droop, I water! Those cushions you got are absolutely gorgeous!
That was cute and interesting. It made me think of the evolution of the faux plant. My mom's house plants were all real and so were mine once upon a time but as I look around (maybe because I killed so many) most of mine are faux now. My pathos and some succulents are the survivors. Love those pillows and the chair!
Pillows are AMAZING!!!
LOL! We have the SAME plant issues you do! Our hardest hanging basket plant, that come back yr. after yr are petunias AND they are cheap. The potted asparagus fern outside, come back yr. after yr. even though during the winter, it looks dead. LOVE your Killmn pillows. They CAN be pricey, SUPER find! Thank you for the BONUS videos! So EXCITED for your next one!

At least you are a plant mom; I LOVE THE Pieces from the outlet. I am going to tell hubby I want to go to the outlet tomorrow. Pretty far so going to have to clean up; of course wear gloves. STTB

Indoor plants and I are not friends, however outdoor plants and flowers are my besties, not sure why that is though. I think it’s the watering of indoor plants and the fact that I can’t use a hose in the house lol. I enjoyed the plant tour.
My granddaughter had that. It’s tough. She’s still such a happy baby! ❤

You can plant asparagus fern in the sun and it flourishes However…… hanging baskets that are in harsh sun dry out so fast that they require twice a day watering. Try lining the sides of the basket with moss, then plastic bags to help hold the moisture in around the soil in the pots. Make sure you leave a hole for drainage in the bottom
Praying for health and healing for your family! I have a black thumb... haven't been able to keep any plants alive, not even a succulent or a cactus. Add that to my list of homemaking skills I wish to acquire. Lol
Fun tip for your roses. Pull them out of the water, tie twine around the ends, hang upside down and they will dry out in a few weeks . Beautiful to hang or ironstone.

Graveyard, OMGosh so funny. Sometimes if you take your drying plants out of their pots and shake off as much of the dirt as you can and then give it fresh dirt/potting soil, some times that helps too.
That plant in your galvanized bucket plant looks quite real! I would just fill the bucket with dirt or maybe fill and put moss from craft store on top?
Love the video. Your plants look great, both faux and real. I have many plants too. I am in the process of propagating a bunch of geraniums for summer.

The Z plant requires Very little water. When the stems fall over like they’re opening their arms wide, it’s because they’re getting too much 💦 water. Yours looks wonderful.
