Athens Creek I’m sorry but I really do like this version so so much better. The arrangement with Nate starting out with a lower voice/key really sets the tone for rest of the song. I was hoping the released version would be the same as this.

I'm 67, stuck in a nursing home since March 12 2020. Sanity is only kept by my cell phone I am blessed to have. I've lost my ability to walk as we were confined to our rooms for almost 1 yr and suffering from Covid since the USA has decided to let everyone get Covid to beat it you die or live, I've lived with severe breathing, upper respiratory problems. The point of saying all that is: I was a great singer, now I'm not. But I put on my pap machine mask that provides my filled lungs and I bellar out my favorite songs, one being this one. Amazing Grace as well as House of the Rising Sun.

Have you heard the version by the long forgotten gospel group "the weavers" ? It is most unique version I have heard.

I have held a lifelong and concrete belief that masterpieces should be left alone, and not covered or remastered. But y’all changed my mind. Caught me in my feels and I was sobbing by the end. Beautiful.

@@williamjenkins4913 yeah, the Animals completely changed the original lyrics, to make it a story about a man with a gambling addiction instead of a woman stuck turning tricks in a brothel, probably more PC. But i do think it's a shame to actually pay for a cover of a song where nothing is changed - if you're going to do a cover do it better or do it differently. This is pretty cool in part because it's a male/female duet. I'd love to see a medly/mashup of the original lyrics and the Animals lyrics in a duet like this.

In my 76 years, I have heard many renditions of "House of the Rising Sun", but this rendition is quite possibly the best that I have heard, at least in my opinion. Your voices meld together yet remain separate, and blow the roof off the joint! Impeccable lead guitar playing, also!

I love the juxtaposition of these songs sung together at the end. The desperation and pain of "The House of the Rising Sun" being sung, even as the answer to those pains is delivered in "Amazing Grace." It was well performed by the group, and a huge congratulation goes to the arranger of the piece.

Never have heard Amazing Grace sang in the tune of old House of the House of the Rising Sun which was my all time favorite when I was a teenager until now. I am 73. I cannot say enough how supremely amazing this rendition is!!!!

The acoustic guy deserves a massive round of applause! He shreds on that guitar!

Wow, I was immersed in this song as a young hippie of those years gone by. But this transcends all my expectations as a matured adult with spiritual yearnings. Amazing as amazing grace can be.

The unsung hero. The guy that didn’t sing one word was the star of this rendition. I’ve heard countless versions of this song. What made this truly special was his incredible guitar …. Picking…. Ensemble… not sure what the description. He is without a doubt the reason in my mind why this rendition is so amazing.

He didn't play the solos you hear i'm afraid. They were clearly over-dubbed in post production. He's not playing anything close to what you actually can hear. I think that's why you don't see much of him when the solos are on. In fact a lot of the audio has been squeezed in the edit room. Still a decent listen mind you.

I've heard Amazing Grace sung to the tune of House Of The Rising Sun before - which I thought was very clever - but I hadn't heard both songs put together like this. It is very effective, and goes together as a story-line. The "sinner" of House of The Rising Sun becomes the "saved" of Amazing Grace. Love it!

This may be among the most authentic covers of any songs ever. You gave the songs their ancient feel, and I often get chills when I watch this.

I want to thank you for joining these two songs. I heard this earlier today and it stuck with me. Tonight I found out my uncle had passed, and these were two of his favorites. So I am now sitting down with my guitar to play along. I love the peace music brings, and want to thank you for helping me find my own peace!

You'll find the rhythm to "House of the Rising Sun" done to "Amazing Grace" in many hymnals. It was a way to connect the secular to the religious back in late 70's. Their rendition is fabulous. Not original. But fabulous.

The Animals version was one of my earliest all time favorites. You guys do the song complete justice.

It certainly works well to juxtapose the two ideas of the woman going out like the prodigal son and the idea of the person returning home, accepted by the Grace of God. Anyone with experience of fitting words and music together in Church has probably noticed it that the words and tune fit together, though. You often get words that fit a sermon, but no one knows the tune, so you check the "meter" of the words -- how many syllables per line -- and look for a tune that has the same meter. Or you just select a different tune for the fun of it, or because you don't want to play in five flats. We used to sing the 23rd Psalm to "Washington Square" (doesn't fit so well!) and "House of the Rising Sun" when I was a teenager 60 years ago, and perhaps "Amazing Grace", though that wasn't so popular in Australia until the late 1960s. With a slight change of the words, we also fitted "I surrender all" to the tune of "Who Stopped the Rain?"

As a now Christian that walked a hard road before Christ and fell in love with His Amazing Grace - this song is pure genius - a problem and a solution - HOPE! I love your clean sound. Love the humble background. Love the strong voices. Love the guitar playing. - love your look and your musical style. WHAT A PACKAGE!!! PLEASE do some more along this style, nearly 3 million views should tell you its worth pursing and watch the blessings follow.

Crazy that I found this cover. When my Grandpa passed away a few years ago, we sang Amazing Grace to the tune of House of the Rising Sun. I thought what an odd pair, but it was beautiful when we sang it at his funeral service. It has been since then that I heard the two together. Beautiful.

Beautiful... Loved how these two songs were linked and brought together... Both musically and also spiritually...

I sang in a Kentucky prison choir that traveled across our state to many churches. There was a Giant of a Man named George from Hazard who sang this song to the tune of Amazing Grace and it would sends chills down everyone in the room.

Hearing these two songs together, especially when they’re sung alongside each other, reminds me of the scene in the film ‘Amazing Grace’, where John Newton, the ex-slaver turned vicar who wrote Amazing Grace, simply said this: “Although my memory’s fading, I remember two things very clearly. I am a great sinner, and Christ is a great Saviour”.

The youth group usually was the choir at the first service at our church. We sang House of the Raising Sun. This was back in 69/70. Didn't go well in a hard Southern Baptist church. We had fun. Wish we had thought to follow up with Amazing Grace. This is really beautiful.
