Also very excited can't wait for it

Am i the only one who doesn't really care how the dragons look like, as long as they are used efficiently i'll be content. I am way more intrested in the drama/conflict and the political intrigue, just two characters talking and i'll be glued to the screen, I really want to see more depth and complexity this season for all the characters, hopefully they'll deliever. Also Aemond talking about go up against Daemon gave me chills knowing what's to come in hopefully season 3 🔥🔥🔥 Can't wait!

I am right there with you as a huge fan of HotD but also that its not immune to some small criticisms. I'd say not only Rhaenyra but Alicent as well they toned down both of their ruthlessness and ambition and how flawed both characters are ; almost a feeling that if everyone got out of both of their ways, they would have worked it out. No, both are equally flawed and ambitious in the text. I'd say Daemon is somewhat toned down in that respect also ; certainly Aemond thus far with the accidental killing of Luke rather than much more deliberate and fury like the textual version of that event. I'd say that factors into letting Laenor survive on the show as well , neither book Daemon or Rhaenyra would leave that loose-end and also would have highlighted both of their ruthlessness like the text conveys if they actually killed him off (also like the book accounts suggest). With this adaptation can't be afraid to just rip the band-aid off and show the ruthlessness and flaws through and through. I just hope we lean more away from toning down , rationalization and more sympathetic portrayals. That being said huge fan of the series and really looking forward to it , one of / if not the highlight of what i am looking forward to watching this year.

I also agree , the prophecy did become a bit distracting and seemingly Jace's visit to the Wall as shown in the Team Black trailer means HotD will probably continue to lean into that going forward. To me its not really relevant and takes away a bit from the main focus , a bloody brutal familial conflict. GRRM felt the need to include it , which seems even more baffling as that reveal could have been held back for the Aegon's Conquest series which seems strongly likely to be made based on most recent articles / updates. When reading F&B and the Dance of the Dragons portion ; i didn't come away from it saying "great , but wish we had more nods to the White Walkers / Others". It was satisfying enough as it / what the text focused on.

who would have guessed westeros would come back to hbo swinging like this, it looks like they might get redeemed in my book

They might be outnumbered in the Dance of the Dragon but I have a feeling they've already won the overwhelming majority of fans.

In my view, we’re 100% purposely getting a picture of Rhaenyra in the text of the book that’s slanted by westerosi misogyny. Not to say there haven’t been straight up changes to the book, there have been some. But there’s also been quite a bit of the show that seems like it’s what “really happened” so to speak.

The prophecy kind of works for me because it's more in line with George RR Martin's books than it is with the show, if they would have done something to point at the night king or the ending of Game of Thrones I would have side eyed it but because the prophecy is straight out of george's book I'll be okay with it.

I exactly agree with your concerns. I also would have preferred they show a little bit more of the good side of Daemon but all bets are off this season. I want people quake when he walks in the room.

Finally, House of the Dragon is back! Been missing my favorite bast**d, Daemon. Team Black>Team Green

The book is not reliable but the show is.

Remember that what you naively call "reality" is what maesters wanted you to believe. The series shows the reality behind legends and biased tales.😉 Besides that, I totally share your loves and hates (team Black 🖤, of course) and enjoyed your video.👍 3 more months to wait ! 🔥

They HAVE to make at least a shade of a sympathetic character for tv audiences. Having wall to wall b*stards will NOT translate to a tv audience like it can for the written word. There's only so far humour can go with unsympatheic characters, only so far an audience can hold its attention or interest. I agree with your sentiment on this but the reality has to come first.

What irks me is when the streamers lump obvious "fantasy" stories into Sci-fi....We just don't have any good sci-fi lately. sigh.
