Also I’m pretty sure Otto just knows more than anyone that Viserys fought too hard and too long for his daughter’s claim to ever take it away from her. And for Aegon of all people regardless of what he said on his death bed.

So excited for episode 3 the introduction of Bloody Ben aka Benjicot Blackwood the casting for house of the dragon has been immaculate so far

When the two brothers fought its also symbolic it’s family vs family betraying one another for power

Alicent did not send the guards off during b&c. Criston actually failed to appoint a sworn protector to helaena when helaena became queen. Which is something he should have done as lord commander of the kings guard. We see Arryk call criston out on this during their scene together. It was criston’s fault there were no guards, not alicent’s. People try to blame her for everything that happens 😭.

I think in a video I watched it said Criston didn't appoint one for Helena because her room is close to Alicent's...although in 2x1 it looked like she had to run a fair distance to her mother's room so I don't know...

@@Stephie_L i think i watched the same video too, so i may have been wrong on that exact detail of how far apart their rooms were. but he is still the one responsible for hiring guards in the end, not alicent. and based on 2x02 we see criston is fine to go rogue without informing the council or anyone else about it.

Frankly, the reason why Helaena’s room wasn’t protected is because Criston Cole is a poor lord commander. He has poor judgement when it comes to his job. We’ll see that prove itself in these coming episodes with Criston as Hand.

You asking the real questions my friend! In what world would that just "happen" and the consequences not be escalated to the zero power? Even with the madness happening, the full blown war has not yet actually started. They are still playing chess and being calculated. Rhaenyra is the ONLY reason why Daemon is literally still in "check" to some extent, if she was killed he would kill everyone at Dragonstone first for their recklessness in not protecting the Queen but then go to Kings Landing and kill as many people as possible with no regards for his own life. Dumb as hell plan

I haven't read the source material, but here are my theories: -Could Alyn & Addam be the illegitimate sons of Lord Corlys? -Larys expected he would be the next Hand. When he finds out about Alicent & Criston, will he blackmail her into marrying him? Especially if there's the possibility of a child.

I think Eryk should have shaved his beard or changed it up at dragon stone but then again I doubt he would ever expect his brother to do a deceptive act to pretend to be him to kill Rhaenrya. I always wondered why a lot of identical twins like to look the exact same even when they don’t need to by having the same hairstyle and cut

The scene with Helena in the carriage as the flowers particles falls is foreshadowing what’s about to happen in the battle of dragons to come. The scene with Aegon in the bed with the lady symbolizes a mother and son relationship that he doesn’t have with his own mother but seek. Also, the scenes with the small folks in kingslanding is showing you how this battle is affecting non royalties who live there.

This proves Neither one of Alicents sons are fit to be king. This is really viserys fault. The realm would have assumed loyalty or at least most of it had he named rhyneara heir earlier. He was more involved in her childhood. By the time he had these boys he was burned out and sick. With this he was not as attentive and so they are broken.
