Matt Smith and Paddy Considine are dishing on the long-awaited ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel ‘House of the Dragon’ in a new interview with ‘Extra’s’ Jenn Lahmers. Matt and Paddy tell us about their characters, Viserys Targaryen and Daemon Targaryen. Matt also teases Daemon’s motives, saying he isn’t a pure villain and he doesn’t actually want the Iron Throne. ‘House of the Dragon’ premieres August 21 on HBO and HBO Max.

Matt saying ‘he’s got long hair, short hair, medium hair’ really tickled me and it’s literally such a basic statement
I can tell Matt is really smart person
I love the chemistry these 2 have, it might have played a very important role in establishing their brotherhood in the show.
It will be wrong to call Daemon a villain. Anti-hero is more apt.

Daemon Targaryen is a complicated character. I read the book. He is mischievous!

I don’t think Viserys was boring. They say Viserys is weak, but I think he was a kind man and a good man and it’s a shame people equate that with weakness. I think he was a people pleaser, and maybe that doesn’t make for the best king but it’s better than a king that doesn’t ever please anyone at all but himself. I don’t think Daemon wants the throne, he wanted the privilege of being the heir. That made him feel important, he’s a second son. Without that title, he didn’t have a whole lot. Daemon was the heir for 10 years and he didn’t want to give it up. Who would?

yeah they dropped two spoilers when matt mentioned her getting crowned paddy had a look on his face of like oh shit did he just say that, dont react or theyll notice, and he nodded to matt when he said you cant just go round slicing peoples heads off
The interviewer was PAINFULLY awful. She knew literally nothing and couldn't get out a single sentence.

Daemon isn’t a Villain. He also isn’t a Hero. He’s a Grey Character so Anti-hero is perfect.
